The Finance Manager provides strategic leadership in maintaining LAURIE’s financial health and overseeing all aspects of financial management. Key responsibilities include developing and executing financial plans, managing budgets, preparing accurate reports, controlling costs, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing cash flow, and mitigating financial risks. This role is instrumental in guiding executive decisions, enhancing operational efficiency, and enhancing profitability throughout both fleet and corporate operations.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Duties include managing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and implementing strategic initiatives to drive efficiency and productivity. Additionally, the role requires fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders, monitoring performance metrics, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Prepare and oversee yearly budgets, projections, and financial strategies in accordance with organizational goals.

Track daily rental income, driver remuneration, and the overall financial health of the fleet on an ongoing basis.

Perform variance analysis and deliver strategic insights aimed at enhancing profitability.

Oversee the planning of cash flow, execute treasury operations, and nurture banking partnerships.

Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws and statutory obligations (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.).

Collaborate with internal and external auditors while managing communications with tax consultants and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and accuracy in audit processes.

Responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate reconciliations, and maintaining robust financial controls.

Design and enhance internal control frameworks aimed at mitigating fraud risks and eliminating financial discrepancies.

Evaluate existing operational expenditures and propose strategic initiatives to enhance cost efficiency and reduce overall spending.

The role involves assisting with the planning for fleet expansion, strategizing capital investments, and developing funding approaches.

Oversee and guide finance team members to guarantee prompt and precise reporting.

Craft and refine financial policies and procedures to align with industry-leading standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required.

A recognized professional certification, such as ICAN or ARCA (or an equivalent credential), is mandatory for this role.

With a minimum of five to eight years of progressive finance experience, including at least two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity, candidates will demonstrate a strong foundation in financial operations and leadership.

Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting standards and Nigerian tax regulations.

Proficiency in mobility, logistics, leasing, or service-oriented sectors is highly beneficial.

Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Excel, specialized accounting software, and financial reporting tools with a high degree of proficiency.

Exceptional ability to lead teams and effectively manage relationships with stakeholders is required.
