As a hybrid position, the chosen individual will be required to work on-site for 3–4 days each week at our Academy located in Granada, Lagos State.
Instruct classes focused on pattern drafting, garment construction, sewing techniques, fabric knowledge, and fundamental aspects of the fashion business.
Ensure students achieve learning objectives and meet industry standards by developing and sustaining the academy’s curriculum.
Oversee practical training sessions, workshops, and student-led projects, ensuring hands-on engagement. Deliver constructive feedback regarding fittings, necessary adjustments, and final finishes to enhance skill development and precision.
Evaluate student advancement, provide individualized coaching, and assist students in developing portfolios tailored for industry placement opportunities.
Maintain classroom order, monitor student attendance, and ensure the safe use and proper maintenance of all studio tools and machinery.
Assignments, tests, and culminating projects must be established and administered. Student submissions should be evaluated and graded with fairness and objectivity.
Remain informed about evolving fashion trends, methodologies, and technologies to ensure the course material remains pertinent for both Nigerian and diaspora audiences.
JOB REQUIREMENT
A bachelor’s degree or professional certification in Fashion Design, Clothing & Textile, or a related field is required.
We seek candidates with at least two to three years of active involvement in fashion design.
Proficiency in operating both manual and industrial sewing machines, along with expertise in pattern creation, grading, and couture finishing techniques, is essential.
Proficient experience with fashion illustration software and fabric painting techniques is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, a patient demeanor when working with beginners, a creative mindset, and a strong ability to inspire and motivate students are essential.
Capable of presenting sample garments or collections that you have designed and constructed.
