Primary purpose:

Deliver operational assistance to the hotel’s internal control and compliance framework by conducting regular control evaluations, recording deviations, supporting investigative efforts, and guaranteeing prompt completion of corrective measures to safeguard hotel assets and maintain its reputation.

Oversee and execute critical duties essential to the role, including managing daily operations, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Facilitate communication between departments to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive growth and optimize performance metrics. Monitor progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to foster professional development. Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company policies to uphold standards of excellence. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and implement data-driven solutions.

Daily oversight includes conducting cash counts, verifying point-of-sale (POS) reconciliations, reviewing night audit variances, and validating petty cash balances across all locations.

Transaction testing involves meticulously sampling and verifying guest folios, credit card settlements, supplier invoices, and payroll entries to ensure accuracy and adherence to established policies.

Conduct inventory verification by participating in cycle counts for Food & Beverage, minibar, and housekeeping stores; meticulously record any discrepancies and contribute to shrinkage reduction initiatives to bolster loss-prevention protocols.

Ensure procurement controls are upheld by meticulously reviewing purchase orders, approval matrices, and vendor documentation to eliminate any instances of unauthorized expenditures.

Maintain compliance by overseeing checklists for statutory, brand, and corporate mandates; compile weekly control reports and promptly escalate any deviations.

Investigations and remediation duties involve assisting with inquiries into fraud or discrepancies, monitoring the implementation of corrective measures, and confirming their completion.

Conduct foundational control awareness training sessions and provide assistance in implementing policy updates.

We are seeking candidates who possess the necessary qualifications and demonstrate strong competencies in the relevant field. Ideal applicants must meet all specified educational requirements and professional criteria. Essential skills include proficient technical abilities, effective communication, and problem-solving expertise. Additionally, experience in a similar role and familiarity with industry standards are highly valued. The ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to team objectives is required. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to continuous professional development are also expected.

Education: Candidates should possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline.

Seeking candidates with one to three years of experience in hotel operations, internal audit, or finance, preferably with practical familiarity with PMS/POS systems such as Opera.

Required competencies include meticulous attention to detail, a foundational forensic approach, advanced Excel skills, the ability to produce clear and concise written reports, and effective communication with stakeholders.

The position requires onsite attendance with a schedule that includes rotating shifts, encompassing weekends and public holidays, to ensure comprehensive coverage of outlet operations and adherence to audit windows.
