Position is based in Alaska, Oregon, within the IKEA Local Government Area of Lagos.

Job Summary:

The System Administrator / IT Executive oversees the seamless functionality, security, and dependability of the organization’s IT infrastructure. Responsibilities encompass administering computer systems, networks, servers, software applications, and user accounts; delivering technical assistance to employees; upholding cybersecurity protocols; executing system backups and routine maintenance; resolving hardware and software challenges; overseeing IT asset inventory and license management; and facilitating the rollout of new technology initiatives.

This position is responsible for upholding adherence to IT policies and industry best practices, in addition to reducing system downtime and protecting organizational data.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive project success, monitor performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Conduct regular evaluations of team productivity and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and maintain high standards of quality. Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal guidelines. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to cultivate talent and enhance team capabilities.

Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s servers, networks, and workstations to ensure seamless operational performance and reliability.

Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software-related problems encountered by staff members.

To maintain robust cybersecurity measures, implement and regularly update comprehensive protocols.

Oversee the administration of IT assets and software licenses, while also cultivating and maintaining strong vendor relationships to ensure seamless collaboration and resource optimization.

Provide technical assistance to address the IT requirements of current initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in software development or a closely related role. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential, along with experience in database management and cloud computing platforms. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are also necessary. Prior experience with Agile methodologies and version control systems like Git is preferred. Additionally, familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines is a plus.

Earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related discipline.

Possesses a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in IT administration roles.

Demonstrates extensive expertise in network infrastructure, hardware components, and security frameworks.

Proven expertise in problem resolution and effective communication is essential.
