Oversee and execute core responsibilities to ensure operational excellence, including managing daily workflows, coordinating team activities, and maintaining high standards of performance. Evaluate all electrical engineering deliverables and technical submissions provided by contractors to ensure they meet specified standards and requirements.
Verify that all electrical installations—such as substations, transformers, switchgear, and power systems—are installed and functioning in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Conduct thorough inspections to identify any defects or malfunctions, ensuring that each component operates efficiently and safely. Document findings meticulously and report any discrepancies to the relevant stakeholders for immediate corrective action. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, test results, and compliance documentation to support audits and regulatory reviews.
Responsibilities include designing, maintaining, and ensuring the proper functioning of distribution systems, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), cabling infrastructure, lighting systems, earthing setups, and lightning protection mechanisms.
Perform detailed site inspections and technical audits to verify adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and all project requirements.
Assess project milestones and deliver technical evaluation to support contractor payment verification processes.
Evaluate and assess potential technical risks, deviations from standards, and quality-related issues.
Conduct thorough assurance evaluations and develop strategic recommendations based on findings.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
Hold a valid professional registration, including but not limited to CORE, PE, Cent, or an equivalent credential recognized within the relevant industry.
At the Associate level, candidates must possess a minimum of six years of pertinent experience. For the Consultant level, a minimum of twelve years of relevant experience in industrial, oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, fertilizer, power generation, transmission, or major infrastructure projects is required.
Proficient in electrical infrastructure encompassing high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) systems, as well as substations, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and power distribution networks.
Demonstrates a solid understanding of IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and other relevant industry standards, ensuring compliance and adherence to established technical guidelines.
Consulting, Owner’s Engineer, EPC/EPCM, third-party inspection, project assurance, or technical audit experience will be highly advantageous.
Preferred qualifications include relevant industry certifications that validate specialized skills and expertise, enhancing the candidate’s ability to perform job duties effectively. These credentials may encompass project management, technical proficiency, or compliance-related qualifications, depending on the role’s specific demands. Candidates holding such certifications will be given priority consideration during the evaluation process.
Required qualifications include certification as a PMP, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, BOSH, IEEE Membership, or an Electrical Safety Certification, along with Protection and Control Certification or an equivalent credential.
