The Reconciliation Officer plays a pivotal role in verifying the alignment of purchase orders, invoices, delivery confirmations, credit memos, and incoming payments from retailers, wholesalers, and commercial associates. This position maintains the integrity of financial records by ensuring transactions are logged correctly, discrepancies are addressed without delay, and overdue payments are monitored and escalated to uphold optimal cash flow and precise financial documentation.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties encompassing strategic planning, project management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive organizational objectives forward. Lead initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, monitor performance metrics, and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures. Serve as a key liaison between departments, fostering seamless communication and alignment to meet business goals. Reconcile purchase orders issued by supermarkets with corresponding invoices, delivery confirmations, and payment documentation from distributors.
Ensure each customer delivery is accurately invoiced and recorded in the accounting system without discrepancies.
Reconcile incoming payments with corresponding outstanding invoices and customer accounts to ensure accurate financial records and timely resolution of discrepancies.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies pertaining to purchase orders, invoices, deliveries, deductions, returns, and payments.
Oversee pending invoices and pursue collections of delinquent payments from supermarkets, distributors, and trade clients.
Draft and distribute customer account statements as needed to ensure accurate and timely financial communication.
Ensure meticulous preparation and upkeep of reconciliation schedules alongside all necessary supporting documentation.
Escalate unresolved payment disputes and long-outstanding debts to senior management for further review and resolution.
Compiling and submitting weekly and monthly reconciliation and receivables reports is required.
REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, or Business Administration is required.
Applicants must be no older than 29 years of age.
Candidates must have successfully completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYC) program.
Seeking candidates with 1–2 years of professional experience in reconciliation, accounts receivable, finance, accounting, or a comparable field.
A solid grasp of purchase orders, invoices, statements of account, and payment reconciliation is essential.
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets are required.
Exceptional proficiency in analytical reasoning, quantitative analysis, and complex problem-solving is essential. Candidates must demonstrate a keen ability to interpret data, evaluate numerical information, and develop effective solutions to challenges.
