CSI is actively recruiting a Project Director (PD) to lead the Routine Immunization Project. The initiative aims to revitalize routine immunization programs by addressing persistent challenges that impede progress and reverse declining vaccination rates in targeted states. Additionally, it seeks to eliminate barriers preventing zero-dose and under-immunized children from accessing critical vaccines and essential health services. Through tailored technical assistance, the project enhances routine immunization systems in nine states, employing a collaborative co-creation strategy to expand equitable coverage, with a particular emphasis on identifying, engaging, and reaching zero-dose and under-immunized children.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Director provides strategic and managerial leadership, ensuring project quality and guiding team performance. This role fosters innovation while overseeing project coordination, execution, monitoring, assessment, and adherence to compliance standards. Serving as CSI’s authorized representative for this initiative, the Project Director maintains strong communication channels and cultivates professional relationships with government counterparts, clients, stakeholders, and other collaborators.
The Project Director will oversee and direct a team executing a project scope dedicated to delivering direct technical assistance to the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHC DA), State Primary Health Care Development Agencies (Spicas), national/state routine immunization technical working groups, and State Immunization Teams. This role will involve client management responsibilities for the NPHC DA and the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare (MOHISM), along with engagement with additional partners and donors. The Project Director will lead a multidisciplinary team of public health and program management specialists to attain key outcomes, in alignment with the immunization practice team, while collaborating closely with CSI/Nigeria leadership. Accountable for the technical and managerial oversight of the project portfolio, the Project Director will also ensure comprehensive risk management for the program. This position will report directly to the CSI/Nigeria Country Director, with an indirect reporting line to the Immunization Practice Director or their designated representative in the United States.

Oversee the project’s successful execution while ensuring the timely preparation of both routine and ad hoc performance reports and technical deliverables.

Seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in core competencies.
