Job Summary
HR Leverage Africa is currently seeking a dynamic Canteen Manager for one of its clients. The successful candidate will oversee the comprehensive management of the canteen as a standalone business unit, overseeing operations, staffing, budgeting, cost control, procurement, reporting, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction within a fast-paced food service setting.
Oversee and execute core duties centered on [specific responsibilities, e.g., project management, team leadership, or operational oversight], ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Responsible for managing all daily canteen activities, including food preparation, service delivery, and efficient workflow organization.
Responsible for the oversight of all team members, including chefs, cooks, stewards, cleaners, and storekeepers, while ensuring the effective allocation and coordination of shift schedules.
Oversee food cost management, budget adherence, waste reduction, and inventory utilization to ensure operational efficiency and financial accountability.
Oversee the procurement process and cultivate strategic supplier partnerships to ensure seamless and cost-effective operations.
To guarantee strict adherence to HACCP, hygiene, and food safety regulations, maintaining the highest standards throughout all operations is essential.
Compile detailed operational reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, incorporating comprehensive cost and performance evaluations to provide actionable insights and data-driven recommendations.
Act as the primary point of contact, facilitating seamless communication and coordination between clients and canteen management teams.
Consistently deliver exceptional service quality while prioritizing customer satisfaction to uphold high standards.
Requirements
With a demonstrated track record spanning multiple years, you possess substantial expertise in overseeing canteen, catering, restaurant, or hospitality operations management.
Proficiency in budget administration, procurement operations, and vendor relations is essential. Experience in financial planning, supplier coordination, and contract negotiations is required.
Demonstrates a track record of effectively overseeing sizable teams within fast-paced food service environments.
Proficient in food safety protocols and HACCP standards with a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other reporting tools is considered beneficial.
Proven experience in one or more of the following capacities is essential: Canteen Manager, high-volume Restaurant Manager, Hospitality Operations Manager, or Catering Manager.
