Job Purpose

The Technical Manager, Bakery will lead and oversee all technical, production, quality, maintenance, and process improvement initiatives within bakery operations to guarantee the consistent manufacturing of safe, high-quality products. This role requires driving operational efficiency, maintaining equipment reliability, fostering product innovation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing continuous improvement measures while strictly adhering to food safety, quality, health, and safety standards.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of critical duties, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to established protocols. This role demands proactive engagement in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational objectives. Responsibilities include managing complex projects, leading teams, and fostering an environment of accountability and continuous improvement. Additionally, the position requires staying current with industry trends, regulatory compliance, and best practices to drive sustainable growth and innovation.

To ensure continuous optimal performance, monitor equipment and production line operations meticulously. Implement and enhance systems and processes designed to track and optimize machine efficiency, thereby maximizing asset returns effectively.

Develop and execute a robust plant maintenance program, drawing on industry-leading best practices within the beverage manufacturing sector.

To foster ongoing enhancements across all maintenance operations, establish, strategize, and execute superior maintenance methodologies, thereby guaranteeing optimal asset utilization.

Enforce the organization’s health, safety, and environmental policies to safeguard staff on the production floor—ensuring compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements—and to secure the company’s assets.

Ensure the execution of industry-leading manufacturing initiatives, including the Perfect Plant Manufacturing Systems (PPMS) framework, among others.

Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory and statutory mandates governing machine operations and maintenance procedures.

Oversee the implementation of technical operations in strict adherence to methodologies such as 5S, TPM, WCM, Manufacturing Excellence, and Six Sigma to maintain optimal performance and process efficiency.

Possesses a comprehensive understanding of Food Safety Management Systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices to mitigate risks and uphold product integrity. Demonstrates proficiency in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining systems such as HACCP, ISO 22000, or equivalent frameworks to safeguard food safety and quality throughout the supply chain.
