We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties critical to our operational success. The ideal candidate will manage key initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives while maintaining high standards of efficiency and accuracy. To ensure the prompt and efficient resolution of issues, perform troubleshooting, field repairs, maintenance, and servicing of electrical equipment installations, generator sets, and other specialized units. Collaborate with other relevant departments to guarantee high-quality and timely job completion, thereby minimizing downtime.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Inspect, diagnose, and locate faults within electrical modules and components of Caterpillar engines—including both gas and diesel variants—as well as generator sets, machine systems, and specialized units such as Atonic magnetos, as reported for repair, maintenance, and servicing operations in the field.
Perform comprehensive inspections, load testing, and commissioning of newly acquired Caterpillar equipment, verifying all documentation—including PDS and DSR Forms—is completed accurately prior to customer delivery.
Secure and source the necessary components for designated tasks while ensuring timely procurement and delivery of materials.
Employ diagnostic instruments to assess the precise functionality of repaired components, units, and systems.
Reads and interprets wiring diagrams and technical specifications. Executes all designated electrical tasks, encompassing electrolyte preparation and battery charging procedures.
Develop single line diagrams, perform electrical calculations, determine appropriate cable sizing, and draft specifications for electrical materials.
Collaborates effectively with relevant departments and the site operator to address any additional concerns that may arise.
The employee must ensure the appropriate maintenance and safeguarding of all company assets entrusted to their care, including tools, test equipment, and vehicles.
Promptly escalate any challenging issues to the relevant authorities to ensure they receive the necessary attention, thereby enabling management to make well-informed repair decisions as required.
Draft and finalize essential documentation and service reports—such as delivery slips, SIMS, and other relevant records—and submit them to customers or forward them to management for review and follow-up as needed.
RELEVANT INFORMATION.
Possesses an HND or a first degree in Electrical Engineering along with a minimum of three years of hands-on professional experience in the field.
Possesses a strong working knowledge of Caterpillar Electrics, coupled with a professional and safety-conscious driving approach, alongside a valid professional driving license.
