Job Summary
The Marketing Officer will be directly responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, prospecting, and closing sales for Hoop Telecoms’ suite of internet services (including Broadband, Dedicated Internet Access, FTTH, and FTTB).
This is a target-driven, field-facing role requiring an aggressive approach to customer acquisition, pipeline management, and direct relationship selling to SME and corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Sales & Customer Acquisition: Actively prospect, pitch, and sell Hoop Telecoms’ high-speed internet and connectivity solutions to businesses (SMEs, corporate offices) and residential estates.
Pipeline & Lead Management: Generate independent sales leads through cold calling, field visits (foot-soldiering), networking, and industry referrals to maintain a robust, active sales pipeline.
Pitching & Presentations: Conduct professional sales presentations and site-survey coordinations with prospective clients to understand their bandwidth needs and offer tailored internet packages.
Deal Closure & Negotiation: Prepare commercial proposals, negotiate pricing structures within company-approved margins, and close contracts to meet or exceed monthly revenue targets.
Relationship Management: Manage accounts during the onboarding and installation phase, ensuring a seamless transition to the technical team while maintaining strong relationships for potential upselling.
Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor pricing, promotional offers, and network deployment zones in Lagos to position Hoop Telecoms competitively during pitches.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, client interactions, and closed deals, providing weekly and monthly performance reports to the Sales Manager.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
Education: BSc / HND in Marketing, Business Administration, or any relevant discipline.
Experience: 1 – 3 years of proven experience in direct sales, field marketing, or business development.
Direct experience selling internet services (ISP), telecom solutions, or ICT products is a major advantage.
Core Skills:
Strong negotiation, closing, and objection-handling skills.
Ability to translate technical telecom terms (bandwidth, Mbps, fiber, radio links) into clear business benefits for clients.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in tracking sales pipelines using Excel or CRM tools.
Attributes: Highly self-motivated, resilient, target-driven, and comfortable spending significant time in the field meeting prospective clients.
