Job Brief
The Assistant Production Manager for Oil Palm is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of production by converting strategic plans into daily operational activities while maximizing the utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and methods (4M).
This position is tasked with achieving production targets, managing labor costs, reducing downtime and waste, upholding quality standards, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
We will evaluate performance based on measurable objectives aligned with organizational goals. These indicators will include quantifiable metrics that reflect efficiency, productivity, and overall effectiveness within the role. Additionally, we will track progress against predefined benchmarks to ensure consistent achievement of strategic targets. Clear, data-driven assessments will guide performance reviews and development discussions to foster continuous improvement.
Achieve a daily production target of 95 to 100 percent, ensuring consistent performance and efficiency in all assigned tasks.
Machine utilization is consistently maintained at 85%, ensuring optimal operational efficiency throughout production cycles. This metric reflects the effective allocation and performance of equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing output. Regular monitoring and preventive maintenance contribute to sustaining this high utilization rate, supporting overall productivity goals.
Labor expenses and overtime expenditures must remain within the predetermined budgetary limits, ensuring financial efficiency and compliance with cost-control measures.
Defects and wastage must remain within the established allowable thresholds to ensure compliance with quality standards and operational efficiency.
Ensuring absolute precision in payroll processing is essential, with a strict requirement for 100% accuracy.
Zero major safety violations have been recorded for the facility.
Ensures reporting is completed precisely and delivered within established deadlines.
Oversee a comprehensive array of critical tasks, including strategic planning, execution of initiatives, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and frameworks to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and driving project completion within established timelines and budget constraints. Qualifications
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
Seeking a candidate with a proven track record of hands-on experience in the relevant field, demonstrating proficiency and depth of knowledge through prior roles or projects. The ideal applicant will have successfully contributed to initiatives that required specialized skills, showcasing adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning. Prior engagement in environments that demand attention to detail and problem-solving under pressure is highly valued. Additionally, familiarity with industry-standard tools, methodologies, or frameworks is essential to excel in this position.
Candidates must possess a minimum of five to eight years of hands-on experience in oil palm cultivation and production.
Seeking candidates with a proven track record of 2–3 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial capacity.
Skilled in production planning, labor management, and cost control, with demonstrated expertise in these areas.
Proficient in a range of technical skills, including software development methodologies, programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, and database management systems like SQL or NoSQL. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is required, along with familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices is also essential.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in analytical thinking and the ability to resolve complex challenges effectively.
Proven expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities is required.
Proficiency in Lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives is desirable.
