Finance Operations Supervisor

Charles Ardor & Company  ยท Banking / Financial Services

Full Time Abuja
Abuja
Deadline: 18 September 2026
Posted June 19, 2026

Reports to: Managing Principal

Job Type: Full-time & Abuja (Hybrid, 2 days a week in the office)

The Role:

The Finance Operations Supervisor is part of our senior delivery layer, the level that grows into Finance Operations Manager. You work across a portfolio of client businesses, making sure the reporting that reaches each client’s leadership is accurate, complete, and on time, by overseeing and reviewing the work that produces it. On some clients, that means overseeing the client’s own accounting team; on others, our team runs the accounting directly, and you oversee that. This is a practice role you carry several clients at once, each with its own books, deadlines, and leadership, and you keep all of them to standard and on time. You sit above our Analysts and Associates; you report to the Managing Principal, and you are on a defined path to Finance Operations Manager. From day one, you hold the standard and the schedule below the Principal. As you master how we work, your authority grows, until you are signing off the work yourself and leading delivery as Finance Operations Manager.

What this looks like in practice:

You are the quality checkpoint. You review the management accounts, reports, and reconciliations before they reach the client’s leadership. You check the numbers are right, nothing is missing, and the work is clearly presented, and you send it back to be corrected when it is not

You hold the reporting standard and the cadence. You make sure every client’s reporting meets our standard and arrives at the agreed monthly cadence, and you keep the work moving across all the clients you are responsible for.

You oversee month-end, controls, and compliance. You oversee month-end across your clients, keep the controls and processes behind the numbers sound, and make sure statutory and tax obligations are met and that your clients are ready for audit.

You oversee and develop the team. You review and raise the work of our Analysts and Associates, who run the accounting on the clients we execute for, and of the client’s own accounting team where we oversee and train them, so the work gets stronger over time.

You support the advisory. You help turn reliable numbers into the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis the leadership relies on to make decisions. You grow into Finance Operations Manager. As your judgment and your grip on our systems grow, you take on sign-off, own client relationships in full, and lead delivery.

Requirements

Requirements Qualifications and Experience:

ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.

3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in accounting, audit, or finance operations.

Strong financial reporting and management accounts experience, including running and reviewing month-end

A solid grounding in reconciliations, financial controls, and process review.

Working knowledge of Nigerian statutory and tax compliance (VAT, PAYE, WHT, and company income tax) and of preparing for audit.

Experience reviewing the work of other accountants and holding it to a consistent standard, or clearly ready to step up to it.

Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or variance analysis is an advantage, as you will support our advisory work.

Comfortable in accounting software; Zoho Books and Zoho Analytics experience will count in your favor

Skills and Attributes:

Technically strong, and still sharpening. You know accounting and reporting deeply, you stay current on standards and compliance, and you keep getting better.

A reviewer’s eye. You catch the errors other people miss, and you can tell when a set of numbers does not hang together.

An operational thinker. You organize work into clear, repeatable systems and schedules, and you can see where a process is about to break before it causes a problem.

Organized under pressure. You can carry several clients and deadlines at once without letting the quality slip.

Ownership and initiative. You move without waiting to be told, and when something goes wrong you own it and put it right. You develop people.

You can review and coach other accountants so their work improves over time. Ambitious. You want to grow into the Finance Operations Manager seat.
