Job Summary

The Head of Accounts oversees all financial and accounting operations at the designated location, ensuring precise financial reporting, efficient budget administration, adherence to statutory requirements, and robust internal controls across every business unit—including the bakery, restaurant, mart, and filling station.

Oversee and execute essential duties encompassing strategic planning, team leadership, and operational management to drive organizational success. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics tailored to optimize workflow efficiency and productivity. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with overarching business objectives. Lead cross-functional initiatives, fostering collaboration among departments to enhance interdepartmental synergy. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their professional growth and development through constructive feedback and targeted training. Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance, industry standards, and ethical practices while maintaining a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Oversee all accounting functions and processes at the branch location to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Compile financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Prepare and oversee financial plans for departments and branches, ensuring adherence to established guidelines while tracking expenditures and performance metrics to maintain fiscal responsibility.

Accurate recording of all financial transactions must be maintained at all times.

Oversee cash flow management to guarantee sufficient liquidity for ongoing business operations.

Responsibilities include managing and verifying the accuracy of bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure financial integrity across all accounts.

Ensure all tax payments, pension contributions, and statutory deductions are remitted promptly and accurately according to regulatory deadlines.

Develop and uphold robust financial control mechanisms to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Oversee revenue collection processes and conduct thorough analyses to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Deliver financial analysis and strategic business insights to assist management in decision-making processes.

Seeking a highly skilled professional with proven expertise in the field, demonstrated through relevant qualifications and substantial hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of industry-specific tools, methodologies, and best practices, along with a strong educational background in a related discipline. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

A recognized professional qualification, such as ICAN, ARCA, or an equivalent credential, is required.

A minimum of five years of professional accounting experience is required, with at least two years dedicated to a leadership or supervisory capacity.

Proficiency in retail, hospitality, manufacturing, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries is beneficial.
