The Grant Officer will spearhead resource mobilization efforts and ensure adherence to donor compliance standards for OLAF. Central to this position is the acquisition of reliable, multi-year funding to achieve the strategic objectives of the A Million Dream Educational Scholarship Initiative, in addition to bolstering our emergency relief and health programs.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of critical duties, including but not limited to strategic planning, project management, and cross-functional team leadership. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to enhance operational efficiency and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Conduct thorough analyses of business processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend data-driven solutions to optimize productivity and profitability. Serve as the primary liaison between senior management and department heads, facilitating clear communication and fostering collaboration to drive project success. Monitor key performance indicators, track progress against established targets, and prepare detailed reports for executive review, offering actionable insights to inform decision-making. Maintain strict compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards while mitigating risks and resolving operational challenges in a timely manner. Lead initiatives to cultivate a high-performance culture, including mentoring team members, providing constructive feedback, and fostering professional development opportunities across the organization.

Grant Sourcing & Proposal Writing

Research and secure funding from embassies, international foundations, UN agencies, USAID, the EU, and corporate CSR partners through strategic outreach and proposal development.

Craft compelling proposals and concept notes meticulously aligned with the A Million Dream framework, ensuring each document showcases exceptional quality and relevance.

Fee support, along with learning materials, is provided for pupils attending primary and junior secondary levels.

Providing support for transitions (50%): Merit-based sponsorships are available for WAEC, NECK, JAMB, and tertiary admissions.

Tertiary Retention initiatives, comprising 20% of the budget allocation, provide financial support to students identified as being at risk of discontinuing their studies.

Develop comprehensive log frames and budgets that accurately represent the project’s expansive national scope, encompassing all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Oversee the administration and reporting of grants, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and organizational policies. Develop and maintain meticulous records of grant-related activities, expenditures, and deliverables to facilitate accurate financial tracking and accountability. Prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders, including funders, senior management, and regulatory bodies, summarizing project progress, outcomes, and financial performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align grant activities with strategic objectives and ensure timely submission of required documentation. Monitor grant budgets, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain fiscal responsibility.

Create and oversee a centralized tracking system to manage all grants, associated deadlines, and donor-specific requirements comprehensively.

Work closely with State Coordinators and project teams to collect and compile data essential for narrative and financial reporting.

Ensure meticulous documentation of every intervention, including school bag distributions and tertiary tuition payments, in accordance with the transparency standards mandated by international donors.

Ensure adherence to compliance standards in procurement, safeguarding, and donor visibility across all project locations.

We are currently seeking a skilled professional to oversee and enhance our donor engagement strategies, fostering meaningful connections with supporters to drive long-term philanthropic growth. The ideal candidate will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and values. Responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic donor engagement plans, analyzing giving trends, and creating tailored communication and stewardship initiatives to maximize contributions. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including development, marketing, and finance, to optimize fundraising efforts and report on key performance metrics. The successful applicant will possess a minimum of five years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, or a related field, along with a proven track record of increasing donor retention and revenue. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and project management skills are essential, as well as proficiency in donor management systems and data analysis tools. A bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a relevant discipline is preferred.

Develop a sustainable network of strategic partners committed to a decade-long educational strategy.

Craft compelling impact narratives and in-depth case studies based on insights from the 100,000 individuals served annually, highlighting the measurable return on investment generated by OLAF’s strategic interventions.

Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to facilitate strategic networking and fundraising initiatives, both within Abu Dhabi and across other key regions.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for this position: a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in [specific field/industry], a bachelor’s degree in [relevant field] or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and proficiency in [specific software/tools]. Requirement

A bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a closely related field is required; possession of a master’s degree is advantageous.

A minimum of two to four years of professional experience in grant writing and reporting, specifically within the NGO sector, is required, along with a demonstrated track record of successfully securing grants valued at seven figures in Nigerian Naira (NGN) or international funding.

Project Knowledge: Candidates possessing experience in managing large-scale educational initiatives or overseeing scholarship programs will be viewed favorably.

Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in MS Office and Google Workspace, with proficiency in developing intricate project budgets and logic models.

Demonstrates openness to extensive travel throughout Nigeria to oversee project execution and engage with donors.
