Additionally, the individual will be tasked with identifying opportunities for innovation, leading change management efforts, and fostering a collaborative work environment to drive sustainable growth.

As a senior project team member, you will collaborate with seasoned operational leaders on intricate transactions, playing a pivotal role in all facets of project structuring and execution. This includes providing essential support to the operation leader in managing the project team effectively.

As a senior member of the project team, you will undertake all duties delegated by the operations’ leader, ensuring thorough portfolio monitoring while offering strategic advice, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members to enhance their performance and development.

In collaboration with internal Bank departments and relevant country teams (where applicable), you will play a leading role in driving policy dialogue initiatives at the project level or provide support for national-level endeavors. Your responsibilities will include delivering essential assistance, such as compiling and sharing relevant information or documentation, as well as participating in meetings to secure grants and technical cooperation funds. These funds will complement investment projects or support broader policy dialogue objectives.

We collaborate on marketing and business development initiatives, partnering with sector-specific and advisory teams across key markets to cultivate strong industry relationships. This role focuses on expanding the bank’s deal pipeline and enhancing cross-selling opportunities by leveraging the institution’s core competencies.

Assist in the recruitment, training, coaching, and mentoring of junior bankers in collaboration with the team Director, Associate Directors, and Senior Bankers, engaging them across all stages of the project lifecycle—including appraisal, execution, implementation, monitoring, and business development—to maintain high-quality project deliverables and equitable task distribution among team members; additionally, support their professional and competency growth.

Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, coupled with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to collaborate effectively across teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines. Prior leadership or project management experience is strongly preferred.

A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in a relevant field—or equivalent professional experience—is required.

Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ARCA, or CIA are highly advantageous for this role.

Exceptional quantitative and numerical proficiency is essential, enabling the effective interpretation of financial data and the development of robust financial models.

Candidates must possess substantial financial industry expertise gained within investment or commercial banking, private equity, asset management, or auditing/financial consulting firms that adhere to global standards.

With a proven track record in both participating in and leading intricate transactions from inception to completion, you bring hands-on experience navigating the full project lifecycle with confidence and precision.

A robust grasp of the Nigerian and broader West African markets, supported by practical expertise in banking and financial services, coupled with a keen awareness of local dynamics and trends. Depending on the role’s specifics, prior industry or regional experience—including insights into country, regional, or sector-specific developments—may be essential.

Credit analysis expertise, encompassing the capacity to evaluate financial statements, alongside a solid grasp of both local and international accounting standards and credit assessment methodologies.

Proficient in computer operations, with strong familiarity in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet applications, particularly in financial analysis and modeling tools.

Possesses a deep comprehension of pertinent systems and processes.

Effective stakeholder management capabilities are essential, requiring the ability to engage, communicate, and collaborate with diverse parties to ensure alignment and mutual understanding. This includes maintaining strong relationships, addressing concerns proactively, and facilitating constructive dialogue to achieve shared objectives. Strong negotiation and influence skills are also critical to balance varying interests and drive consensus.
