The incumbent in this role is tasked with delivering primary, urgent, and emergency outpatient medical care to eligible American employees and their dependents. Furthermore, the physician will extend emergency and occupational health services to all employees of the Mission. Care will be administered through direct patient assessments, examinations, and treatments. The LE Staff physician is responsible for assessing the necessity of hospitalization or medical evacuation and coordinating all aspects of the patient’s care. This position also includes shared after-hours call duties with other healthcare team members. The physician’s decisions carry significant influence across the entire Post community, affecting employees’ fitness for duty, their ability to remain in overseas assignments due to ongoing medical needs, and medical evacuation considerations. Leadership and management will rely on this role to drive workplace wellness initiatives, develop health policies, and offer strategic guidance to enhance the overall health and awareness of the mission.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required for this position.
A medical degree from an accredited medical school, followed by the successful completion of a relevant post-graduate internship, residency, or fellowship program, is essential.
Must hold and continuously maintain an active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the host country.
A National Youth Service Corps (NYC) certificate or exemption is mandatory for this role.
