"Diplomatic missions represent sending states in receiving nations."
A diplomatic mission comprises individuals representing a state or an international inter-governmental organization, such as the United Nations, in another sovereign state to serve as official envoys of the sending entity within the host nation. Typically, the term “diplomatic mission” refers to the permanent office of a country’s diplomatic representatives located in the capital city of another country. Additionally, this mission may function as a non-resident permanent mission to one or more other countries. Consequently, diplomatic missions are categorized as either resident or non-resident embassies.
