Job Summary

The Risk Analyst will support the Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) & Control in fulfilling strategic and operational duties related to risk oversight across Total Health Trust, with potential collaboration with other entities within the Tangerine group as needed.

Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing strategic planning, team leadership, and operational execution to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance productivity, quality, and compliance across all departments. Lead cross-functional initiatives, fostering collaboration among teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Serve as a primary liaison between senior management and staff, facilitating clear communication and alignment with company goals. Monitor performance metrics, analyze trends, and present actionable insights to senior leadership to inform data-driven decision-making. Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and ethical guidelines while maintaining a high-performance culture.

Governance Activities include overseeing organizational policies, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing board relations, and facilitating strategic decision-making processes to align with long-term objectives and stakeholder expectations.

Assist in the creation, oversight, and reporting of the Risk Management Framework and associated policies, providing support to the Head of ERM & Control.

Monitor emerging issues and evolving risks within the organization by assisting with daily processes designed to notify management promptly.

Assist the Head of ERM & Control by contributing to the creation and execution of policies focused on risk management.

Enhance existing methodologies to systematically identify, evaluate—both qualitatively and quantitatively—mitigate, and continuously monitor risks associated with all relevant policies.

Action Plan Oversight: Systematically track the progress of action plans to promptly detect any delays or incomplete mitigation efforts undertaken by business units.

Conducts supplementary initiatives, participates in team-building exercises, and engages in professional development opportunities, as needed.

Support the Head of ERM & Control in crafting and refining the Risk Appetite Framework, with responsibilities spanning the establishment of tolerance thresholds, escalation guidelines, and ongoing oversight of liquidity risk alongside alignment verification for the investment portfolio.

Loss Reporting and Monitoring: Oversee the submission of loss reports by Champions and correspondents while ensuring that corrective measures are tracked and executed.

Conduct a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) by collaborating with process owners to develop, evaluate, and implement the BIA framework, ensuring uniformity and endorsement of BIA questionnaires. Compile and finalize a comprehensive BIA report for review and validation by the BCM Sponsor and the Head of ERM & Control.

Support operational resilience by assisting the Head of ERM & Control in aligning Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) with approved strategies, conducting BCP tests, and executing the Crisis Communication Plan in accordance with the Operational Resilience Policy.

Facilitate crisis management strategies to maintain operational preparedness and enhance responsiveness to potential disruptions.

Support the development and ongoing supervision of the Key Risk Indicators (KAI) dashboard to deliver timely early warnings.

Support the Head of ERM & Control by assisting in the development and review of models, ensuring alignment with established standards and objectives.

Perform thorough risk evaluations spanning multiple business units to detect emerging threats and vulnerabilities.

Accurately classify and prioritize risks in alignment with the organization’s defined risk tolerance and strategic objectives.

Conduct instructional sessions aimed at fostering greater risk awareness and instilling a culture of risk consciousness throughout the organization.

Guide champions and stakeholders through the nuances of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and digital solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory standards. Facilitate their understanding of risk assessment techniques, mitigation strategies, and reporting mechanisms to foster a proactive risk-aware culture across the enterprise.

Perform in-depth evaluations of risk exposure across various business segments to proactively identify and analyze emerging threats.

Responsible for supervising the incident management framework to ensure incidents are logged, thoroughly examined, and resolved in a timely manner.

Perform in-depth root cause investigations for critical incidents and propose effective preventive strategies.

Work collaboratively with business units to establish and oversee the execution of risk mitigation strategies.

Provide assistance to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Control in spearheading innovative advancements in risk management through the strategic application of technology and data analytics.

Assist the Head of ERM & Control in evaluating the organization’s risk management practices by benchmarking them against prevailing industry standards and leading practices.

Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, promptly escalating any identified concerns when appropriate.

Provide assistance to the Head of ERM & Control in organizing and executing stress tests and scenario analyses to assess the resilience of the organization during challenging conditions.

Assist the Head of ERM & Control in advancing various control-related initiatives and ensuring their effective implementation. Provide dedicated support in coordinating and executing relevant control activities to contribute to the organization’s risk management objectives.

Monitoring and Reporting Activities: Conduct ongoing surveillance and systematic documentation of key performance indicators, operational metrics, and compliance status to ensure adherence to organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Prepare and present detailed reports summarizing findings, trends, and anomalies to stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making and corrective action planning.

Monthly, provide progress reports on action plans assigned by the first line to the Head of ERM & Control.

Perform the annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA) across all teams and compile the findings into a cohesive report.

Risk Reporting: Prepare and consolidate the quarterly risk report.

Quarterly risk appetite assessments must be conducted and reported on to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Conduct quarterly assessments of liquidity and investment portfolios to ensure optimal financial positioning. Additionally, undertake any supplementary tasks and responsibilities within the ERM & Control team as delegated by the Head of ERM & Control.

Minimum requirement for consideration includes a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a related industry. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical skills, proficiency in industry-standard software, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are essential, along with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and exceeding performance expectations. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and project management methodologies is highly desirable.

Proficiency in the financial services sector or HMO operations would be highly advantageous.

Possesses a comprehensive understanding of insurance and HMO product portfolios, including their development processes, interdependencies, and core functionalities.

Professional certifications in Risk, Financial Modelling, or Data Analytics disciplines will be considered an additional benefit.

A National Youth Service Corps (NYC) discharge certificate is required.

Demonstrates expertise in key areas such as problem-solving, adaptability, and effective communication. Exhibits strong analytical skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Maintains a proactive approach to challenges and thrives in collaborative environments.
