Role Summary

The Tax and Audit Lead will be responsible for managing the full scope of tax compliance and audit-related functions.

The ideal candidate will guarantee full compliance with all tax obligations and simultaneously uncover strategic avenues for tax optimization.

This position will oversee internal audit initiatives, guaranteeing adherence to regulatory mandates and organizational benchmarks while maintaining precision.

Key Responsibilties

Responsibilities include administering and ensuring adherence to tax compliance standards, alongside the preparation and thorough review of tax returns.

Verify that vendors apply correct tax deductions and submit payments promptly to the appropriate tax authorities.

Conduct internal audit engagements from inception through completion, encompassing meticulous planning, thorough execution, and comprehensive reporting phases.

Examine financial statements meticulously to verify adherence to applicable accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Act as the main liaison for all tax-related questions posed by both internal teams and external parties.

Foster and sustain strong professional connections while delivering expert tax guidance to both internal teams and external partners.

Oversee all communications and interactions with regulatory authorities, including the Legal Immigration and Related Service (LIES) and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

Seeking a highly skilled professional with a minimum of five years of experience in a relevant field, preferably holding a degree in a related discipline. Must demonstrate strong analytical abilities, exceptional communication skills, and proficiency in industry-specific software or tools. Familiarity with project management methodologies and regulatory compliance standards is essential. Responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, developing strategic initiatives, and ensuring operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will exhibit leadership qualities, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.

CITY membership is mandatory, in addition to any other pertinent accounting credentials.

A minimum of three to five years of professional experience in tax and audit functions is required.

Proficient in interpreting and applying tax laws and regulations, with a demonstrated ability to navigate intricate scenarios effectively.

Proven ability to communicate effectively and build strong interpersonal relationships is essential. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with the capacity to collaborate seamlessly with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Proven expertise in analytical reasoning and complex problem resolution, ensuring effective and innovative solutions in dynamic environments.

Proven capacity to excel in high-pressure, time-sensitive settings while consistently meeting stringent deadlines.
