The Tax and Audit Lead will be responsible for managing the full scope of tax compliance initiatives and audit procedures. This role entails ensuring adherence to regulatory standards while overseeing the execution of tax-related activities and audit protocols.

The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all tax obligations while simultaneously identifying strategic avenues for tax optimization.

This position will oversee internal audit projects, verifying precision and adherence to applicable regulatory mandates and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilties

Oversee tax compliance by preparing and reviewing tax returns to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Verify that tax deductions are accurately applied and remitted to tax authorities in a timely manner by vendors.

Oversee internal audit projects from inception through completion, encompassing all phases from planning and execution to final reporting.

Examine financial statements to verify adherence to applicable accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Act as the main liaison for all tax-related questions and concerns raised by both internal teams and external parties.

Build and sustain strong professional relationships while delivering expert tax advice to both internal teams and external partners.

Oversee all communications and interactions with regulatory authorities, including LIES and FIRS.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, is required. A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the IT or cybersecurity sector, is essential. Proficiency in network security, vulnerability assessment, and incident response is mandatory. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent communication skills, are crucial for collaborating with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of industry-standard tools and frameworks, such as SIEM solutions, firewalls, and endpoint protection platforms, is highly desirable. Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, or NIST, is a plus. The ability to work under pressure and adapt to evolving threats is a key requirement.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required for this position.

CITY membership, along with any other pertinent accounting certifications, is mandatory for this position.

Requires at least three to five years of hands-on experience in tax preparation and audit-related roles within a professional setting.

Proficient in tax laws and regulations, with a demonstrated capacity to interpret and implement them effectively in intricate scenarios.

Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, along with strong interpersonal competencies, are essential for fostering collaborative relationships and ensuring clarity in interactions.
