Responsibilities
Support the implementation of R-DATS project development, research, monitoring, and evaluation activities.
This role offers a prime chance to develop significant hands-on expertise in research methodologies, survey implementation, and data handling.
The NYC Survey Data Analysis Intern will undertake the following responsibilities:
Support the execution of research initiatives, including baseline studies, impact assessments, and mid-term evaluations.
Assist in the development of data collection instruments and the formulation of data analysis strategies.
Assist with gathering, inputting, processing, and verifying data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Ensure strict adherence to established data quality protocols throughout all stages of data collection and processing.
Responsible for gathering, organizing, and processing data, conducting preliminary analysis, creating visual representations, compiling reports, and distributing findings.
Collaborate closely with the R-DATS team to compile reports, aggregate data, and distribute key success stories and insights derived from lessons learned.
Facilitate daily research coordination in alignment with established project implementation strategies and schedules.
Perform additional responsibilities as directed by management, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed promptly and accurately.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the field, with a proven track record of success in similar roles. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, and advanced certifications or specialized training are strongly preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, as well as a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, are critical. Additionally, the role demands meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capacity to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
A bachelor’s degree in Demography, Economics, Statistics, Sociology, Public Health, or a closely related quantitative discipline is required.
Proficiency in utilizing State or SPSS for survey data analysis is a mandatory prerequisite for this role.
We require robust quantitative capabilities and hands-on experience with data visualization and statistical tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
Proficiency in research methodologies, survey data analysis, and program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) would be advantageous.
Proficiency in handling extensive secondary datasets, including MICS, DHS, and NARKS, is highly advantageous.
Proficient in English verbal and written communication, coupled with a commitment to quality and precision in all tasks.
Cultural competence and a proven track record of effectively collaborating within diverse team settings are essential.
Demonstrated capacity for autonomous work, critical thinking, and initiative in seeking assistance when necessary.
Proven expertise in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and PowerPoint, is required.
Candidate Status:
Prospective candidates must either be presently stationed in Abu Dhabi or have definitive arrangements to relocate there. Applications from National Youth Service Corps Members currently undergoing orientation training are particularly welcome.
