The Business Development Manager will be responsible for spearheading growth initiatives in South West Nigeria, with a primary focus on achieving sales objectives, acquiring new clients, and fostering long-term partnerships with existing accounts.

You’ll serve as the primary representative of the organization to corporate clients, hospitals, clinics, and key partners, fostering trust, credibility, and consistent value creation.

This position is intended for experienced professionals, not entry-level candidates or those transitioning careers. Ideal applicants will have demonstrated expertise in HMO/health insurance business development and the ability to immediately generate tangible outcomes.

Oversee a comprehensive range of duties, including the planning, execution, and monitoring of strategic initiatives to ensure organizational objectives are met. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align projects with company goals and maintain high standards of operational efficiency. Conduct regular assessments of processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices that enhance productivity and performance. Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous development. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards while delivering measurable results. Serve as a key liaison between departments to facilitate seamless communication and coordinate efforts toward shared targets.

Market Expansion & Client Acquisition: Design and implement effective strategies aimed at capturing new business opportunities within corporate, institutional, and individual markets.

Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain robust collaborations with hospitals, clinics, and corporate entities to broaden our service coverage and enhance market penetration.

Deliver sustained increases in sales and revenue by successfully finalizing high-value agreements.

Collaborate with internal teams to craft customized health plans that align with client requirements and enhance profitability.

We deliver precise pipeline forecasts, market intelligence, and performance reports to leadership to ensure data-driven decision-making.

To succeed in this role, several key performance indicators (KPIs) will be used to measure effectiveness and impact. Accomplishing defined targets—such as improving operational efficiency by a specified percentage, increasing customer satisfaction scores, or reducing project delivery timelines—will be essential. Additionally, the ability to meet or exceed departmental goals, maintain high-quality standards, and drive measurable results will play a critical part in assessing overall performance. Regular performance reviews will help track progress against these benchmarks, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

With a minimum of five to seven years of demonstrated expertise in business development, sales, or marketing roles within an HMO or health insurance company, you will bring a wealth of strategic and operational knowledge to this position.

Profound knowledge of Nigeria’s healthcare insurance sector and compliance with CHIA guidelines is essential.

Accomplished in facilitating strategic negotiations, delivering compelling pitches, and cultivating long-lasting client relationships with finesse and professionalism.

A highly motivated and results-driven professional who excels in high-pressure environments while maintaining autonomy and consistently achieving set objectives with minimal oversight.
