In this Senior Associate: MEL role for Green Rise Africa, you will collaborate closely with the Impact Manager to oversee the day-to-day coordination and administrative functions of the MEL activities throughout the program.

You will oversee the reporting calendar, facilitate collaboration between regional teams and partners to gather necessary data, evaluate and enhance data collection instruments, and ensure the seamless and timely execution of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) processes.

This position demands active involvement in coordinating the MEL function to ensure seamless organization, optimal efficiency, and timely responsiveness.

The position is accountable to the Impact Manager overseeing Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) while collaborating closely with the Impact Manager focused on Reporting, Data, and Analytics, in addition to engaging with program personnel and implementing partners spanning East and West Africa.

Accountabilities include overseeing project execution to ensure timely completion and adherence to established standards, managing cross-functional teams to align efforts with organizational objectives, and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities encompass monitoring progress, identifying potential risks, and devising mitigation plans to address challenges proactively. Additionally, the role requires maintaining clear communication with stakeholders to facilitate transparency and alignment, as well as evaluating performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. A strong understanding of industry best practices and compliance requirements is essential, along with the ability to adapt to evolving business needs.

Responsible for the administration and coordination of the MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) system, ensuring accurate data collection, management, and reporting to support program effectiveness and decision-making.

Oversee the program reporting schedule, diligently tracking, communicating, and meeting all Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) deadlines to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Coordinate data gathering efforts across various regions, collaborating closely with program personnel and implementing partners to guarantee punctual and comprehensive submissions.

Ensure thorough maintenance of MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) documentation, encompassing the MEL plan, data collection strategy, tools inventory, and issues tracking log.

Provide assistance in overseeing the regional Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) budget by monitoring expenditures and identifying any deviations from the planned budget.

Organize and document MEL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning) meetings, maintain detailed records of action items, and ensure timely completion of deliverables by following up as needed.

Ensure meticulous organization, filing, and version control of all MEL documents, tools, and datasets to maintain accuracy and accessibility.

Review and assess data collection tools to ensure their accuracy, reliability, and efficiency, while maintaining strict adherence to quality assurance protocols throughout the process.

Revise and enhance data collection tools and survey instruments to guarantee clarity, precision, and suitability for their intended use.

Facilitate the implementation of data collection tools for partners by developing comprehensive guidance notes and addressing any technical inquiries that arise.

Perform preliminary quality assessments on incoming data, identifying discrepancies or missing information and promptly alerting the Impact Manager.

Assist in the development of innovative tools in accordance with the directives provided by the Impact Manager.

Provides assistance with reporting tasks by generating, compiling, and analyzing data to support organizational decision-making and compliance requirements.

Gather and systematically arrange data inputs required for producing quarterly and annual reports.

Create preliminary drafts of data summaries and visualizations for the Impact Manager’s review.

Collaborate with regional teams to gather essential contributions for the Annual Impact Report, ensuring comprehensive input and alignment with organizational objectives.

Assist in compiling and organizing materials essential for donor reporting and stakeholder presentations.

Review and enhancement of assessment methodologies, along with provision of assistance to advance learning processes, are integral components of this position.

Offer comprehensive logistical and administrative assistance for evaluation initiatives, encompassing scheduling coordination, document compilation, and liaison services with external evaluation specialists.

Assist in organizing and facilitating educational initiatives by documenting and archiving key insights and outcomes from completed projects.

Provide support in coordinating monitoring visits by managing all logistical arrangements, preparing comprehensive briefing materials, and ensuring thorough follow-up documentation is completed.

Capacity Building Support involves providing comprehensive assistance to enhance organizational effectiveness, foster sustainable growth, and strengthen institutional capabilities. This role requires a thorough understanding of training methodologies, strategic development, and performance optimization to empower teams and individuals to achieve their full potential. Key responsibilities include designing and delivering tailored capacity-building programs, assessing organizational needs, and implementing solutions to improve operational efficiency, leadership development, and resource management. Candidates should possess expertise in adult learning principles, change management, and stakeholder engagement, along with strong analytical, communication, and project management skills. Experience in developing curricula, monitoring progress, and measuring impact is essential for driving measurable improvements and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Provide assistance in executing training initiatives for regional teams and partners, with a focus on MEL tools, templates, and methodologies.

Collaborate on the creation and ongoing updates of the Impact and MEL Implementation Manual for partners.

Deliver continuous frontline assistance to regional teams regarding MEL inquiries and tool utilization.

Experienced in overseeing reporting schedules, ensuring timely completion of deliverables, and facilitating collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

Professional experience with data collection tools and survey design platforms, such as KoboToolbox, Survey CTO, Google Forms, or comparable systems, is required.

Skilled at assessing data to ensure accuracy and promptly identifying and communicating any discrepancies.

Exceptional proficiency in both written and spoken communication is essential.

Able to collaborate effectively with geographically dispersed teams and maintain productivity across various time zones.

Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong emphasis on Excel and Word, is required.

Desirable:
