Position Overview

As a Production Technician, your role will involve operating, monitoring, and performing routine maintenance on our industrial dehydration systems, which include tray dryers, belt dryers, and freeze-drying equipment. Your key responsibilities will include ensuring the machinery operates at peak efficiency, adhering to rigorous food safety protocols, and meeting production yield objectives while reducing material waste.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of critical duties to ensure operational excellence and strategic alignment with organizational goals. Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project initiatives, foster innovation, and maintain high standards of performance. Develop, implement, and monitor key processes to optimize efficiency, mitigate risks, and achieve measurable outcomes. Serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders, providing guidance, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring transparent communication at all levels. Participate in strategic planning sessions to align departmental objectives with broader business priorities and adapt to evolving market demands.

Operates and monitors various types of equipment to ensure efficient and safe performance. Responsibilities include conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Requires familiarity with equipment operation manuals and adherence to safety protocols. Must possess mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment. Prior experience in equipment operation or a related field is preferred.

Operate, monitor, and fine-tune industrial food dehydration systems in strict adherence to product specifications and established standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Monitor critical control points, including air temperature, humidity levels, air velocity, and drying times, to verify that moisture content and product quality remain within specified parameters.

Conduct thorough pre-startup inspections and calibration procedures for dehydration equipment prior to the initiation of each operational cycle.

Quality Assurance and Food Safety professionals play a pivotal role in ensuring that products meet stringent regulatory standards and maintain the highest levels of safety. Their responsibilities include meticulously inspecting manufacturing processes, conducting comprehensive risk assessments, and verifying compliance with local, national, and international food safety regulations. Additionally, they oversee sanitation protocols, validate quality control measures, and investigate any deviations or non-conformities to uphold product integrity. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of HACCP, GMP, and other industry-specific frameworks are essential. Candidates must possess relevant certifications, such as those from the ISBN or BRC, and demonstrate proficiency in quality management systems and auditing techniques.

Ensure full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines, and the organization’s established food safety standards.

Perform routine quality inspections on both incoming raw materials prior to the drying process and the resulting dehydrated products, evaluating key parameters such as moisture content, texture, and visual integrity.

You will meticulously document and record all process parameters, production yields, and any deviations in quality within the batch records.

Perform routine maintenance and promptly address troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal system functionality.

Conduct regular preventive maintenance (PM) activities on dehydration units, conveyor systems, slicing machines, and sorting equipment.

Expertly identify and resolve mechanical or operational malfunctions with urgency to reduce production stoppages effectively.

Collaborate closely with the maintenance engineering team to execute intricate repairs or complete system overhauls.

Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols is crucial to maintaining a healthy and compliant environment. This role involves rigorously upholding sanitation practices, following established safety guidelines, and promptly addressing any potential hazards. Responsibilities include routine inspections, proper handling of materials, and thorough documentation of sanitation and safety procedures. The ideal candidate must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, a strong commitment to hygiene standards, and the ability to enforce compliance effectively. Familiarity with relevant regulations and prior experience in sanitation or safety roles are highly valued.

Perform clean-in-place (CIP) and manual sanitation procedures on dehydration chambers, ducts, and all food-contact surfaces to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.

Ensure compliance with 5S standards by upholding a meticulously clean, orderly, and secure work environment at all times.

Always don proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere rigorously to established occupational health and safety protocols.

Proficiency in the operation of industrial dehydration systems is highly desirable.

Possesses a solid understanding of Food Safety management systems, including HACCP, SF, BRC, and ISO 22000, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
