Job Summary:

The State Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the comprehensive oversight of all medical operations across AHF-Nigeria supported facilities within the designated state, including primary sites and outposts. This role ensures the strategic expansion of healthcare services throughout the region while maintaining adherence to high-quality care standards for all patients.

Performs a range of critical duties and fulfills key responsibilities to ensure operational excellence and organizational success.

Proven ability to guide teams, inspire performance, and drive organizational success through strategic planning, decision-making, and effective delegation of responsibilities.

The incumbent, in this managerial role, provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for medical and AHF activities across the state, collaborating closely with the Country Program Manager to enhance the delivery of high-quality clinical services throughout the designated region.

The individual will spearhead the advancement of the AHF Program throughout the designated state.

Offer expert technical assistance to the Prevention and Treatment program while fostering seamless connections between outreach initiatives and treatment and care services through robust patient linkage and service integration mechanisms.

Participates in critical technical partner meetings, subsequently relaying valuable input to management via the Country Program Manager.

Ensures the execution of Continuing Medical Education programs across all designated locations while actively contributing to the organization and delivery of CME sessions.

Conducts evaluations of staff requirements and facilitates the onboarding process for new employees.

Individuals in this role collaborate in establishing performance benchmarks and conducting staff evaluations, addressing employee concerns, and administering disciplinary measures for those within their oversight.

Clinical duties include conducting thorough patient assessments, diagnosing medical conditions, and devising individualized treatment plans. Responsibilities encompass performing detailed physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic test results, and managing ongoing patient care. Additionally, the role involves prescribing medications, coordinating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring adherence to established medical protocols.

The incumbent is responsible for maintaining consistent quality standards for clinical services across all AHF-supported sites within their designated region.

Prepare thorough and regular support supervision reports in alignment with the tools supplied by AHF.

Our role involves fostering the adoption of standardized operating procedures to uphold good clinical practice while ensuring that robust Quality Improvement (QI) teams are established and operational at the site level.

Oversee quality management initiatives and establish quality benchmarks, while facilitating quality assurance and improvement sessions.

Enhance the delivery of integrated TB/HIV, PMTCT, and ART services by ensuring the provision of high-quality, comprehensive care within the state program.

Ensures the seamless operation of laboratory services, encompassing the effective functioning of sample referral networks across regional areas.

Deliver hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to field personnel on-site while concurrently overseeing the monitoring and evaluation framework for the project.

Delivers seamless patient flow across all facilities, with particular emphasis on high-volume sites, while conducting time-motion studies to evaluate performance.

Responsible for ensuring the prompt collection, compilation, and reporting of both routine and specialized data, which informs strategic decisions at the site, regional, and country program levels.

Recognize initial indicators of resistance and develop corresponding intervention approaches.

Stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in the clinical management of HIV/AIDS and associated conditions.

Collaborate in establishing and tracking annual objectives, guaranteeing their successful attainment across all regional locations.

Supervises a team of employees, ensuring adherence to company policies and performance standards while fostering a productive work environment. Assigns tasks, monitors progress, and evaluates performance to drive operational efficiency and team success. Provides guidance, resolves conflicts, and supports professional development to maintain high morale and engagement.

Delivers hands-on leadership and coaching to physicians, nurses, laboratory technicians, and pharmacists across regional healthcare facilities, fostering ongoing professional development and skill enhancement.

Compiles and submits monthly drug inventory reports promptly in coordination with the Program pharmacist.

Collaborate closely with the program pharmacists to uphold pharmacy operations in strict adherence to established good pharmacy practices.

Conduct operational research at the site level and foster staff capabilities in delivering case presentations and drafting scientific papers.

Attending AHF Meetings and Committee sessions is a requirement.

The Managerial Meeting demands participation from all department heads to review quarterly performance metrics, address operational challenges, and align strategic initiatives for the upcoming period. Key responsibilities include presenting departmental updates, analyzing budget variances, and proposing actionable solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. Attendees must prepare detailed reports in advance and contribute collaboratively to decision-making processes to ensure cohesive organizational progress. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills are essential for driving alignment and achieving collective goals.

Facilitate collaborative discussions and strategic alignment with technical partners and key stakeholders through organized meetings.

Convene regularly scheduled meetings for all employees to ensure alignment and foster organizational cohesion.

The Medical Staff Meeting serves as a critical forum for healthcare professionals to convene, exchange insights, and address key operational and clinical matters. Attendees are expected to actively participate in discussions, share updates on patient care, and collaborate on improving clinical standards and protocols. The meeting also provides an opportunity to review performance metrics, address policy changes, and ensure alignment with best practices across departments. Participation is required for physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to maintain cohesive teamwork and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality patient care.

Conduct collaborative sessions with regional healthcare facilities to ensure cohesive communication and alignment of initiatives.

CME initiatives encompass the planning, development, and execution of educational programs designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of healthcare professionals. These programs adhere to rigorous accreditation standards, ensuring they meet the highest levels of quality and relevance in medical education. Responsibilities include collaborating with subject-matter experts to identify learning gaps, designing engaging and evidence-based content, and evaluating the impact of educational interventions on clinical practice. Additionally, the role involves maintaining compliance with accrediting bodies, managing logistical arrangements, and fostering partnerships with professional organizations to support continuous professional development.

Additional responsibilities may include attending various other meetings as directed.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Candidates should possess at least three years of hands-on experience with software development, preferably in a collaborative engineering environment. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is required, along with a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and experience with DevOps practices are highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team setting are essential. Knowledge of agile methodologies and version control systems like Git is also a must.
