Role Description

This is a one-month, on-site contract management instructor position located in Port Harcourt. The instructor will be responsible for developing, revising, and conducting contract management training programs, covering key topics such as contract lifecycle management, risk allocation, regulatory compliance, negotiation strategies, and performance tracking. Daily duties involve creating structured lesson plans and instructional materials, facilitating face-to-face lectures and hands-on workshops, and incorporating industry-specific case studies and practical exercises tailored to sectors like oil and gas and manufacturing.

This position entails evaluating learner performance via assignments, assessments, and hands-on evaluations while offering actionable feedback and ensuring meticulous documentation of training records and reports. Additionally, the instructor will partner with the curriculum development team to align instructional materials with industry requirements, assist corporate clients in tailoring training programs to their specific needs, and play a key role in enhancing the quality and relevance of DATA’s educational programs.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience is required. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are expected. Experience in project management or related positions is a plus. Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards is beneficial. The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently is crucial. Familiarity with data analysis and reporting is a requirement.

Proficient in contract management fundamentals, encompassing the drafting, review, and administration of contracts, as well as risk mitigation and negotiation strategies.

With a proven track record in developing and conducting professional training programs, workshops, and academic courses, your expertise spans contract management, procurement, and other related business and legal domains.

Proven ability to communicate, present, and facilitate effectively, ensuring engagement across a diverse range of adult learners.

Demonstrated expertise in leveraging widely used office and presentation applications, such as Microsoft Office and presentation software, along with adaptability in navigating learning management systems or digital training platforms.

A bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or a related field is strongly preferred; candidates with advanced degrees will be given special consideration.

Professional certifications in contract management, procurement, or project management—such as those offered by ACCM/WCC, CAPS, or the PMP—are strongly preferred.

Industry experience in oil and gas, energy, construction, or manufacturing sectors is highly desirable, particularly in positions focused on contracts, procurement, or commercial management.

Proven expertise in creating course materials, case studies, and assessments that accurately represent practical contract management situations.
