Job Summary
The Transformation Manager serves as the operational backbone for ARM’s Strategy & Transformation function, tasked with embedding disciplined execution, rigorous analytical approaches, and direct implementation support into CEO-driven transformation programs that align with ARM’s FY2026 executive scorecard. This position is distinct from traditional project management, requiring the individual to identify execution obstacles, collaborate with business unit teams to develop pragmatic solutions, navigate organizational resistance, and ensure accountability from BU counterparts—all while operating without direct line authority. Candidates must demonstrate a proven ability to craft high-caliber strategic recommendations and successfully implement transformational change within a commercial environment, backed by firsthand experience navigating its inherent challenges.

Key interactions encompass internal teams, including cross-functional groups, senior leadership, and external stakeholders such as clients, vendors, and strategic partners, to foster collaboration and alignment with organizational objectives.
Head of Strategy & Transformation — Reporting line manager; establishes transformation priorities and oversees the portfolio.
Managing Directors within Business Units and initiative sponsors collaborate closely on ongoing projects, with the role serving as the Chief Executive Officer’s operational counterpart for internal BU-driven initiatives.
BU initiative leaders and workstream owners serve as primary points of contact for initiative delivery on a day-to-day basis.
The Group CEO is responsible for providing regular updates on the progress of the transformation portfolio and promptly escalating any issues that are genuinely unresolved.
Colleagues on the strategy team play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between strategic direction-setting and the execution of transformative initiatives.
Oversee and execute all core responsibilities associated with this role, encompassing the delivery of key tasks and strategic initiatives to drive organizational success. Manage and prioritize daily operations to ensure alignment with departmental objectives and company-wide goals. Collaborate across teams to facilitate seamless workflows, resolve challenges, and optimize efficiency. Maintain accountability for performance metrics, reporting on progress, and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance while adhering to established policies, procedures, and industry best practices. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards to mitigate risks and uphold organizational integrity.
This role is responsible for overseeing the structured delivery of key transformation initiatives prioritized by the CEO, owned by business units. The position involves organizing initiatives into well-defined workstreams, setting clear milestones, and maintaining a consistent tracking cadence. Additionally, the role requires identifying and addressing execution bottlenecks in real time while driving timely resolutions. Although the business unit retains ownership of the initiative, this role ensures rigorous execution discipline by upholding both quality standards and delivery pace.
The role demands strong problem-solving and solution design capabilities. Upon encountering a stalled initiative, the individual identifies the underlying cause—whether related to capability, resources, politics, or design—and collaborates with business unit counterparts to develop a viable path forward. This necessitates the application of consulting-grade problem structuring in a hands-on operational setting, where the individual lacks positional authority and cannot merely propose solutions; they must execute and deliver tangible results.
We foster strong engagement and accountability through close collaboration with initiative leads and sponsors within business units, ensuring sustained progress. This involves actively managing relationships with BU counterparts, enforcing agreed-upon commitments regarding timelines, data delivery, and resource allocation, and escalating issues only after exhausting internal solutions. Our success hinges on the excellence of contributions and the integrity of decision-making, rather than positional authority.
Oversee the ongoing monitoring and reporting of the transformation portfolio, ensuring an accurate and transparent perspective on progress—identifying initiatives that are on track, those that are deviating, and those requiring escalation or termination. Generate comprehensive portfolio updates tailored for the Head of Strategy & Transformation and executive-level presentations for CEO reviews. The role demands proactive issue identification and candid communication, avoiding overly optimistic assessments.
Transformational approaches and tools must be tailored to ARM’s operational environment, incorporating structured methodologies such as initiative charters, milestone frameworks, risk and dependency tracking, and benefits realization. The focus should remain on efficiency, ensuring that methods are implemented to expedite delivery rather than generate excessive documentation.
Capability transfer involves cultivating and enhancing the change execution capability within business unit teams over time. Rather than measuring success by the indispensability of the individual, the ultimate benchmark is whether business unit teams demonstrate a marked improvement in their ability to implement change following collaboration with the role holder.
To excel in this role, candidates must meet specific performance benchmarks and objectives that define achievement within the position. They will be evaluated based on measurable outcomes and key deliverables that align with the company’s goals. The position requires individuals who can consistently demonstrate proficiency in core responsibilities while contributing to broader organizational success. Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a results-driven mindset are essential for navigating challenges and driving progress. Proficiency in relevant tools, methodologies, and industry best practices is also mandatory to perform duties effectively. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and adherence to established processes will further ensure the successful execution of responsibilities.
At the conclusion of the 12-month tenure, the incumbent is anticipated to have achieved the following milestones:
Achieved significant advancements across all transformation initiatives identified as key priorities by the CEO, as evidenced by positive feedback from business unit sponsors regarding the caliber of execution assistance provided.
Implemented a robust transformation portfolio tracking and reporting framework, securing formal approval from both the Head of Strategy & Transformation and the CEO.
Demonstrated the ability to establish trust and credibility with BU MDs and initiative sponsors by consistently fulfilling commitments and delivering high-quality results, as evidenced by their engagement and satisfaction rather than the sheer quantity of deliverables completed.
Developed a collaborative partnership with the Transformation Analyst to facilitate the delegation of workstream-level execution tasks.
