The Territory Development Officer (TO) plays a pivotal role in expanding leases and asset finance portfolios by conducting thorough market research, cultivating strategic pipelines, generating high-quality leads, and meticulously tracking competitor actions.
This position is a field-based role focused on business development, demanding sharp commercial insight, rigorous planning skills, and an in-depth knowledge of the assigned region. With a strong emphasis on key performance indicators, the role plays a pivotal part in driving the growth of the company’s client network and expanding its loan portfolio.
Oversee a diverse range of critical duties to ensure operational excellence and strategic alignment. Lead and execute initiatives that drive organizational growth while maintaining high standards of efficiency and accountability. Market Intelligence and Regional Analysis: Responsible for assessing market conditions, identifying growth opportunities, and analyzing competitive landscapes within designated territories to inform strategic decision-making and support business expansion efforts.
Perform ongoing market research activities across the designated geographic territory.
Analyze and gain comprehensive insights into the local leasing and asset finance markets specific to the company’s offerings, including client profiles, economic trends, and unexploited sales opportunities.
To locate all 3-Wheeler Tricycle parks within the designated area and document the corresponding Branch Chairmen and Park Chairmen. Additionally, identify and map key clusters of potential clients, such as independent operators, small businesses, and traders.
Oversee the establishment and enhancement of pipeline development processes, ensuring efficient management and optimization of workflows. Direct the design, implementation, and maintenance of pipelines to meet organizational objectives and performance targets. Foster collaboration across teams to integrate best practices and innovative solutions into pipeline strategies. Monitor pipeline performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed. Lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline operations, reduce inefficiencies, and drive continuous enhancement in pipeline execution.
Identify prospects who demonstrate robust repayment capabilities, consistent income and expenditure patterns, and credible guarantor support.
Construct and oversee a robust lead pipeline comprising at least 100 prospects, ensuring that 30 of those leads are ‘hot’—highly likely to secure financing approval.
Responsibilities include classifying 100 leads into three distinct categories—hot, warm, and cold—by evaluating factors such as credit readiness, financing requirements, and level of urgency.
Daily, the pipeline must be refreshed to gather and verify the required details for each lead and guarantor, including:

Collaborate effectively with Territory Credit Officers, Territory Credit Managers, and Collections Officers to facilitate comprehensive onboarding processes and maintain strong client relationships throughout the entire engagement.
Competitive landscape analysis and market intelligence gathering are essential components of this role. You will be responsible for systematically tracking industry developments, analyzing competitor strategies, and identifying market trends to inform strategic decision-making. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights. Familiarity with market research tools and methodologies is necessary, along with a proactive approach to staying ahead of industry shifts.

The deposit amounts, along with the initial payments, must be specified, and the repayment schedule should detail the daily or weekly installments. Additionally, the loan tenure or overall loan period must be clearly outlined.
Loan agreements encompass various terms and conditions outlining the obligations of the borrower and lender, including interest rates, repayment schedules, fees, collateral requirements, and default consequences. These terms ensure clarity and legal enforceability, protecting both parties while governing the borrowing arrangement. Additionally, they may include provisions for early repayment options, variable rate adjustments, and borrower covenants to maintain financial health. Compliance with these terms is essential to avoid penalties or legal disputes.
We process applications for a substantial volume of clients, ensuring each meets the required approval criteria. This role involves reviewing submissions meticulously to verify compliance with established standards before final authorization.
Conduct a thorough analysis of competitors to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, followed by the formulation of strategic recommendations.
Compile and distribute current competitor intelligence reports on a consistent basis.
Required ualifications
G Experience:
A high school completion certificate is mandatory, with preference given to candidates holding a diploma or degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
2–5 years of demonstrated experience in field sales, business development, microfinance, asset finance, or a closely related industry.
Demonstrated expertise in developing and overseeing effective sales pipelines is required.
Exhibits a comprehensive grasp of lead generation strategies, client qualification methodologies, and the structure of sales funnels.
Experience in informal, semiformal, or small-business markets is particularly beneficial.
