Role Summary

The Tax and Audit Lead will be responsible for managing all facets of tax compliance and audit procedures, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and organizational policies throughout the process.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for fulfilling all tax obligations and concurrently identifying strategic avenues for tax savings.

This position will oversee internal audit engagements, verifying adherence to regulatory mandates and organizational standards with precision.

Key Responsibilties

Oversee tax compliance initiatives by preparing and meticulously reviewing tax returns to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Ensure all vendor payments comply with tax regulations by accurately calculating and deducting required taxes, while remitting these amounts to the relevant authorities in a timely manner.

Conduct internal audit engagements from inception through completion, encompassing planning, fieldwork, and reporting stages.

Examine financial statements meticulously to confirm adherence to applicable accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Act as the primary liaison for tax-related questions from internal teams and external partners.

Foster and uphold strong connections, delivering expert tax guidance to both internal teams and external partners.

Oversee all communications and interactions with relevant regulatory authorities, including the Legal Immigration and Refugee Service (LIES) and the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

Seeking a highly motivated individual with a minimum of five years of experience in a related field to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are essential. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools, along with excellent communication abilities, is required. The successful applicant will be responsible for executing key responsibilities, including project management, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement, while ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards.

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required for this role.

CITY membership and any other pertinent accounting certifications are essential requirements for this position.

Professional experience spanning three to five years in tax and audit operations is required.

Possesses comprehensive expertise in tax laws and regulations, enabling the effective application of these principles to intricate scenarios.

Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with strong interpersonal competencies, are essential to foster collaborative relationships and ensure clarity in interactions.

Exhibits exceptional aptitude for analysis and resolving complex challenges.

Proven capability to excel under pressure within a high-velocity, deadline-focused work setting.
