Job Summary:
The Structural/Site Engineer oversees the structural design, analysis, and implementation of construction projects while managing daily site operations to ensure alignment with design specifications, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols. This position involves directing personnel and subcontractors, optimizing resource allocation, troubleshooting on-site challenges, and facilitating seamless communication between the project manager and field team to uphold project timelines and budgetary constraints.
Oversee essential duties including managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align objectives with organizational goals, while monitoring progress through established metrics. Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflow efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and report performance insights to leadership. Maintain clear communication channels to address challenges proactively and sustain operational excellence.
Prepare comprehensive structural drawings with precision using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Refit, or comparable platforms.
Transform architectural designs into detailed structural blueprints, ensuring precise translation of conceptual plans into actionable construction documents.
Ensure adherence to all relevant local building codes, safety regulations, and structural standards throughout project execution. Partner closely with architects, MEP engineers, and additional consultants to create cohesive, integrated design solutions that meet project requirements and industry best practices.
Oversee on-site construction operations to ensure strict compliance with design specifications and safety protocols.
Collaborate effectively with subcontractors, laborers, and suppliers to facilitate seamless progression through each project phase.
Oversee the advancement of projects and compile regular site reports on a daily and weekly basis.
Work collaboratively with consultants, subcontractors, and trades people to uphold project timelines, address technical challenges, and enhance operational efficiency.
Perform comprehensive site inspections and stringent quality control assessments to ensure structural integrity and adherence to compliance standards.
Offer expert technical counsel to on-site personnel and troubleshoot engineering challenges as they arise.
Maintain strict adherence to applicable local building codes, HSE standards, and regulatory requirements at all times.
Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in a variety of technical domains, including software development, system administration, or data analysis, as required by the role. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, as well as proficiency in tools like Git, Docker, or SQL, is expected. Additionally, experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) is advantageous. A strong foundation in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing technical systems is essential for success in this position.
Familiarity with advanced structural design software, including STABS, STAND Pro, SAFE, SAP2000, ProtaStructure, or similar platforms, is required.
Proficient in AutoCAD and structural detailing, with a deep understanding of advanced technical principles and applications.
Proficiency in Refit, Civil 3D, or other BIM software is advantageous.
Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of engineering codes, standards, and construction regulations.
Proficient in generating and analyzing technical drawings, specifications, and engineering reports is required.

Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education, provided it aligns with the role’s technical or analytical demands.
A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
Preferred Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in software development, system architecture, or data science is required. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential, along with experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments, and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
A minimum of five to seven years of hands-on experience in structural design and on-site supervision is essential.
Professional affiliation or registration with pertinent regulatory bodies, including the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (CORE) or the Nigerian Society of Engineers (USE), is required.
