Our client, a leading snack manufacturing company, is seeking a Procurement Officer to secure premium raw and packaging materials at cost-effective rates. This role will focus on identifying and negotiating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality components while optimizing procurement costs.
Job Description
Supplier Sourcing and Vendor Management: Research, assess, and engage dependable suppliers while maintaining adherence to food safety standards and regulatory requirements throughout the onboarding process.
Negotiation and Contracting: Engage in strategic discussions to finalize contract terms, pricing structures, and payment timelines with suppliers, ensuring optimal cost efficiency for ingredients and packaging materials.
Inventory & Demand Planning: Track raw material stock levels, collaborate with production teams to project demand, and implement strategies to prevent material shortages.
Conduct ongoing evaluations of market trends and fluctuations in commodity prices—including agricultural products—to base procurement choices on data-driven insights, while also monitoring supplier performance.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to verify that all incoming raw materials adhere to established company standards.
Responsibilities include processing purchase orders and verifying invoices, ensuring all procurement records are maintained with precision.
Seeking a qualified candidate who meets or exceeds the following criteria: a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a relevant field, proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, and a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Additional requirements include excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Prior leadership or mentorship experience is highly desirable.
A bachelor’s degree in Management or Supply Chain, coupled with a minimum of four years of procurement experience within a comparable manufacturing environment, is required.
Demonstrated proficiency in negotiation and analytical reasoning is essential.
