Position Summary
The SRHR Project Officer will oversee the day-to-day execution of the SRHR initiative at the field level. This position requires coordinating project activities, fostering engagement with communities and stakeholders, and ensuring the high-quality delivery of interventions while contributing to reporting and learning processes. The officer will collaborate closely with partners, government representatives, and community organizations to enhance access to quality SRHR information and services, with a particular focus on adolescents and young people.
Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to drive organizational success. Lead cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives while fostering collaboration across departments. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to optimize efficiency and productivity. Monitor industry trends and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for growth and innovation. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing guidance, resolving escalations, and maintaining strong relationships. Analyze financial data, assess risks, and present actionable insights to senior leadership to inform decision-making. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards to uphold legal and ethical integrity. Mentor and develop team members through coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Develop and execute all SRHR project initiatives in strict alignment with approved work plans and allocated budgets.
Conduct community-based sessions focused on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) awareness, training, and dialogue initiatives, specifically designed for adolescents, youth, women, and community influencers.
Enhance collaboration and communication channels between local communities and providers of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services to foster stronger, more effective partnerships.
Facilitate the development and enhancement of community accountability and feedback mechanisms.
Integrate AAP and DESI principles comprehensively into every aspect of project operations to ensure alignment and adherence throughout all activities.
Capture insights, accomplishments, and obstacles to compile comprehensive reports for educational and reporting objectives.
Compose detailed activity reports on a regular basis and assist in the preparation of donor reports.
Represent ACF in pertinent coordination meetings at both the local government area (LGA) and community levels.
Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, protection, and ethical conduct consistently throughout all operations.
Seeking a candidate with a strong academic background and relevant professional experience in the specified field. The ideal applicant will hold a degree in a related discipline and possess at least three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role. Additionally, proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also required. Prior experience with project management and leadership is highly desirable.
A bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Gender Studies, or a closely related discipline is required.
Minimum of three years of practical involvement in SRHR, adolescent health, gender, or rights-based project implementation is required.
Effectively utilizing computer applications, especially those within the Microsoft Office Suite, is an essential prerequisite for this role.
Proven expertise in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) within Northern Nigeria, with a specific focus on humanitarian or fragile settings.
Professional experience in collaborating with adolescents, youth organizations, women’s groups, and community leaders is required.
Proven ability to facilitate effectively, communicate clearly, and build strong interpersonal relationships.
Demonstrates the capacity to function autonomously while also collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
Proficient in both verbal and written communication, with a strong command of English and an additional language is considered advantageous.
