Job Summary

We are in search of a proficient and reliable Bricklayer to strengthen our Maintenance Department, tasked with maintaining and enhancing factory buildings, structures, and infrastructure.

The Bricklayer will construct, repair, and maintain brick, block, and concrete structures, including floors, walls, drains, and other masonry elements within the factory facility.

This position assists the Maintenance Team by upholding the operational safety, functionality, and upkeep of production facilities.

Oversee and execute core duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and cross-departmental coordination to ensure organizational efficiency and goal attainment. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to optimize productivity and align with long-term objectives. Lead and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative work environment while delegating responsibilities based on individual strengths and project demands. Conduct regular assessments of team performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed. Serve as a liaison between senior leadership and operational staff, translating high-level directives into actionable tasks. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company standards, and ethical guidelines, mitigating risks and upholding accountability at all levels.

Construct walls, partitions, drains, platforms, and additional factory structures using bricks, blocks, and concrete materials.

Execute repairs for compromised masonry, plastering, tiling, and concrete structures throughout the facility.

Build and preserve flooring, drainage networks, foundations, and structural supports to ensure durability and functionality.

Evaluate architectural plans, diagrams, and technical specifications to determine accurate measurements and project requirements for maintenance and renovation initiatives.

Prepare mortar and concrete mixtures in strict accordance with specified standards, maintaining consistent quality throughout the process.

Support civil maintenance initiatives and contribute to renovation and expansion projects across the factory premises.

Your responsibilities include conducting thorough inspections of buildings and other structures to detect any defects that may necessitate repairs or reinforcement.

Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are consistently maintained in a safe, orderly, and compliant manner.

Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards throughout all operational activities.

Work collaboratively with maintenance technicians, engineers, and contractors throughout project execution and scheduled shutdowns.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, computer science, business administration) required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in project management, with proven track record in delivering complex initiatives on time and within budget.
• Strong proficiency in industry-standard software tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, or Asana) and advanced Excel capabilities for data analysis and reporting.
• Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and aligning stakeholders toward common objectives.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze challenges, devise strategic solutions, and adapt to changing priorities efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, essential for conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences and presenting to executive leadership.
• PMP or equivalent certification highly desirable, along with a commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging trends.

A minimum qualification of SSC, Trade Test Certificate, Technical Certificate, or an equivalent credential in Masonry, Bricklaying, Building Technology, or a closely related discipline is required.

Professional trade certification could provide a competitive edge in this role.

Proficient in interpreting fundamental construction drawings and measurements.

Seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in the specified field, with a proven track record of success in similar roles. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, and familiarity with relevant regulations or compliance standards is strongly preferred. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate across teams and stakeholders. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay current with evolving industry trends and best practices. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience is required.

Applicants are required to either currently reside in Sag amu, Gun State, or demonstrate an immediate willingness to relocate, with proximity to the factory being an essential criterion.

Compensation is structured commensurate with experience and qualifications, offering a competitive salary range aligned with industry standards.

The monthly compensation for this position is N150,000.
