A prominent and rapidly expanding supermarket chain operating numerous branches throughout Lagos State is recruiting a seasoned, strategic, and results-oriented Regional Manager to supervise the operations and performance of multiple branches within a designated region.

The preferred candidate should possess extensive experience within the financial industry, demonstrate outstanding leadership skills, and exhibit a track record of leveraging financial and operational insights to enhance business expansion and profitability. This individual will assume the role of direct Line Manager to Branch Managers and deliver strategic guidance to the Board and Executive Management.

The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required to assess complex data and derive actionable insights. Additionally, the role demands experience with project management methodologies and the capacity to collaborate efficiently within cross-functional teams.

A minimum of a decade of senior management experience in a related field is required, ideally within finance, retail, banking, FMCG, or another well-established organization.

A bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related field is required, with an MBA or relevant professional qualifications considered advantageous.

Proven expertise in financial management and analytical capabilities, with proficiency in interpreting financial statements, analyzing trends, and delivering strategic business recommendations.

Experienced in overseeing multiple business units, branches, or operational sites with a track record of success.

Proven expertise in leadership, people management, coaching, and performance management.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities are essential, along with the capacity to effectively manage and engage stakeholders.

Oversee and execute a broad spectrum of operational duties, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and maintaining high standards of efficiency and effectiveness. Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement across all functional areas. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to foster a cohesive work environment, resolve complex challenges, and achieve departmental and company-wide goals. Provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering professional growth, accountability, and a culture of excellence. Analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend data-driven solutions to optimize outcomes and mitigate risks. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, organizational policies, and best practices to uphold integrity and sustainability. Serve as a key liaison between senior management and operational teams to facilitate transparent communication and alignment of priorities.

Offer executive leadership and comprehensive oversight of all branches across the designated region, guaranteeing the fulfillment of strategic business goals and performance benchmarks.

You will oversee Branch Managers directly, ensuring strict adherence to company policies, operational benchmarks, and strategic directives.

Analyze financial, operational, and sales reports generated by branches to derive strategic insights, subsequently presenting actionable recommendations to both Management and the Board with the objective of optimizing profitability and overall business performance.

Monitor regional sales performance, oversee operating expenses, manage inventory, and assess overall branch profitability.

To devise and execute strategies aimed at enhancing revenue generation, optimizing costs, improving customer satisfaction, and increasing operational efficiency.

Maintain unwavering adherence to company policies, regulatory mandates, internal controls, and risk management protocols across every branch.

Perform routine branch visits, conduct operational audits, and execute performance reviews to pinpoint areas for enhancement and verify compliance with established standards.

Partner with Internal Audit, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and other key departments to advance the organization’s strategic goals and operational excellence.

Guide, support, and cultivate Branch Managers and other essential staff, fostering a dynamic and high-performing team environment.

Compile and deliver regular business performance reports, financial analyses, and strategic proposals for review by Executive Management and the Board of Directors.

Analyze the retail sector to uncover market opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive threats, subsequently proposing strategic business initiatives.
