The Role
As an Accountant, you will oversee the hotel’s routine financial activities, ensuring adherence to international hospitality accounting standards and Nigerian tax regulations. You will collaborate extensively with department heads and senior leadership to enhance profitability while upholding stringent financial precision.
Oversee and execute a diverse range of critical duties, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Lead key initiatives, fostering collaboration across departments to drive efficiency and innovation. Monitor performance metrics, identifying trends and implementing data-driven solutions to enhance productivity. Develop and maintain robust processes to streamline workflows, reduce redundancies, and improve overall quality. Serve as a liaison between senior leadership and frontline teams, facilitating clear communication and strategic alignment. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies, mitigating risks and safeguarding company assets.
Financial Reporting: Compile precise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including comprehensive P&L reports.
Cost Control & Budgeting: You will oversee hotel expenditures, assess budget variances, and collaborate with the Food & Beverage and Operations teams to streamline inventory management and minimize waste.
Oversee the nightly revenue audit process to ensure precise reconciliation and recording of all room, banquet, and ancillary revenues.
Oversee the timely submission and payment of all statutory deductions, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and CIT, ensuring strict adherence to FIRS and LIES regulatory requirements.
Cash Flow Management: Responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit management, and providing daily cash flow forecasts.
Maintain and enhance internal control policies to safeguard hotel assets and mitigate the risk of fraud.
What We Are Looking For
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
ARCA, ARCA, or CPA certification is a non-negotiable requirement for this position.
A minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible accounting experience within the hospitality sector is required.
Requires expertise in hospitality ERP systems, QuickBooks, and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
Exceptional analytical abilities, elevated emotional intelligence, and an unwavering commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality are required.
