Job Summary
The successful candidate will report to the plant manager and assume responsibility for offering technical direction to the engineering department, which includes Mechanical Services, Machine Services, Cold End Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation, as well as safety and environmental functions.
This position, integral to the Plant management team, will collaborate across functions to uphold operational excellence, achieve profitability targets, and meet customer expectations while fostering a culture centered on safety, quality, and sustainability.
We oversee daily operations, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with company policies. Key duties include managing team performance, addressing any operational challenges, and maintaining high productivity levels. Additionally, we collaborate with cross-functional departments to align processes, support business objectives, and optimize workflows. Regular reporting, performance evaluations, and strategic planning are also integral to our role in driving organizational success.
Leads and directs the Engineering department to consistently deliver operational excellence while aligning with established performance benchmarks and profitability objectives.
Key engineering strategies and maintenance plans implemented are reported on progress, with ongoing measurement of trends against established objectives.
Develops a performance improvement culture by evaluating existing processes, systems, and standard operating procedures to ensure alignment with Group policies and regulatory mandates.
Experienced professionals in this role will be tasked with identifying, evaluating, and addressing business risks at all organizational levels, from broad strategic considerations to specific operational concerns. Their responsibilities include developing and implementing comprehensive risk mitigation strategies to safeguard the company’s assets, reputation, and long-term viability.
Leads initiatives that foster a robust safety, environmental, and sustainability culture, strictly adhering to regulatory requirements while prioritizing the welfare of all stakeholders to ensure zero harm.
Collaborates with melting, production, and other departments to ensure that plant operational indicators and resources are optimized efficiently.
Requirements
A degree or diploma in engineering or a related scientific field is required, with preference given to candidates holding a professional membership certificate.
Seeking candidates with 4 to 6 years of leadership experience in an engineering management capacity within a manufacturing-technical setting, with a preferred background in glass operations and related processes.
