Job Summary

A highly proficient Electrical Technician is required to support our oil palm processing operations located in Odogbolu, Gun State.

You will oversee the installation, upkeep, diagnosis, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring their safe, efficient, and continuous operation while adhering to HSE standards.

Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties to ensure operational excellence and team productivity, including leading project execution, managing cross-functional collaboration, and driving strategic initiatives aligned with organizational objectives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to optimize workflow efficiency, enhance quality standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Serve as a key liaison between senior leadership and departmental teams, facilitating transparent communication, aligning priorities, and resolving escalated issues to maintain alignment with business goals. Monitor team performance through regular assessments, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development to cultivate a high-performing workforce. Additionally, ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards while mitigating risks through proactive monitoring and corrective actions.

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, control systems, motors, panels, and plant equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.

Conduct systematic inspections and implement preventive maintenance measures to minimize operational disruptions and mitigate electrical risks.

Diagnose and resolve issues within three-phase systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and power distribution units to ensure optimal operational performance.

Ensure strict adherence to Nigerian electrical codes, HSE regulations, and company-established standards for all electrical work performed.

Enforce lockout/ragout protocols and safe work permit systems in collaboration with the HSE team to ensure workplace safety and compliance.

Analyze and comprehend electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure accurate interpretation and application of the provided information.

Maintain precise documentation of maintenance activities, repair work performed, and spare parts consumed.

Respond swiftly to electrical failures to ensure uninterrupted production processes.

Collaborate in the installation of new machinery and electrical system upgrades as required.

Educate operators and contractors on the principles of electrical safety to foster a culture of precaution and compliance within operational environments.

Seeking a highly motivated individual to fill an open position, the ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and demonstrate at least three years of hands-on experience in the industry. Strong proficiency in [specific software/tools] is essential, along with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, and a commitment to adhering to strict deadlines. Proficient in 3-phase systems, motor controls, transformers, and industrial wiring.

Proficient in adhering to Nigerian Electrical Standards and implementing fundamental Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols.

Proficient in interpreting technical schematics and operating diagnostic instruments, including multimeters, clamp meters, and megohm meters.

Experienced in developing effective solutions and drafting comprehensive reports with clarity and precision.

Proficient computer skills are necessary for maintaining accurate logs and documentation.

Capable of accommodating varied shift schedules and promptly addressing emergency situations.
