UNICEF Nigeria is recruiting a Senior International Consultant to conduct an in-depth, evidence-based Gender Equality Programmatic Review (GPR). This assessment will evaluate the current status, identify critical gaps and opportunities, and outline strategic pathways to enhance gender integration across UNICEF Nigeria’s programming and operational frameworks. The findings will play a pivotal role in shaping the formulation of the upcoming Country Program for the 2028–2032 period.
Key outputs will encompass a Desk Review Report, a Draft Mission Agenda, a Preliminary Findings Presentation, a Debrief Slide Deck, a draft Gender Policy Review (GPR) Report accompanied by a Summary of Agreed Gender Equality Priorities, a finalized GPR Report, and a draft Gender Action Plan, all of which will guide the Strategic Moment of Reflection scheduled for early September.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, along with at least three years of relevant professional experience. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in industry-standard software tools. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are essential for collaborating across departments. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and project management principles is highly desirable. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
An advanced university degree, specifically a Master’s, is required in Gender Equality Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health, or an equivalent discipline.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are essential. Prior experience in project coordination or administrative support is preferred. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and organizational skills would be advantageous. A strong attention to detail and the capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment are critical.
Proven experience and technical proficiency in gender equality initiatives, whether through program implementation or research endeavors, are essential for this role.
Demonstrates proficiency in integrating evidence-based methodologies into the development and execution of programs to ensure effectiveness and impact.
Proficiency in conducting assessments related to gender equality and social inclusion is required.
Excellent English proficiency, both written and verbal, is essential, complemented by exceptional interpersonal and presentation abilities.
Desirables:
