The organization is in search of a committed communications officer tasked with creating engaging multimedia content to showcase its initiatives and achievements.
The successful applicant will be tasked with creating, refining, and disseminating premium visual and audio content tailored for multiple platforms, while ensuring strict adherence to the organization’s communication strategy to strengthen brand visibility, audience engagement, and overall influence.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive operational excellence, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. You will oversee project timelines, assign tasks, and monitor progress to guarantee timely and efficient completion of deliverables. Additionally, this role entails conducting thorough data analysis to identify trends, assess performance metrics, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership for informed decision-making. The position requires strong leadership skills to mentor team members, foster a culture of accountability, and uphold high standards of professionalism across all projects.
Create multimedia assets, including photos, videos, graphics, and animations, tailored for social media, websites, campaigns, reports, and events to enhance engagement and communication.
Gather on-site video footage and facilitate discussions with beneficiaries, staff members, and key stakeholders through interviews.
Produce high-quality video and photo content that meets professional benchmarks and effectively conveys a compelling narrative.
Develop and produce dynamic multimedia content to enhance digital marketing initiatives, ensuring assets are both captivating and aligned with campaign objectives.
Create compelling visual narratives that support advocacy initiatives, fundraising campaigns, and awareness objectives.
Collaborate closely with program teams to interpret field activities and transform them into engaging visual representations.
Provide training to field personnel in fundamental multimedia capture techniques, specifically photography and video.
Maintain a structured digital asset repository by systematically organizing files, applying accurate metadata tags, and verifying proper usage rights to ensure compliance and accessibility.
Ensure full compliance with consent and copyright regulations for all materials utilized.
Carry out additional duties as assigned, ensuring all relevant tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with 3+ years of experience in technical roles such as software development, systems administration, or cybersecurity. Familiarity with programming languages including Python, Java, or C++ is essential, alongside hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes. Strong problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments are critical. Certification in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) or cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEA) is highly desirable, as is prior experience with DevOps practices or infrastructure automation. Excellent communication skills are necessary to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
A Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Digital Communications, Graphic Design, or a closely related discipline is required.
A minimum of three years of professional experience in communications, content creation, multimedia production, or digital marketing is required, ideally gained within non-governmental organizations, media entities, or sectors focused on social impact.
Proven expertise in developing, refining, and delivering multimedia content—such as videos, graphics, photography, and social media assets—designed to engage varied audiences effectively.
Skilled in crafting engaging narratives and polished written content, with expertise in producing clear, impactful material for websites, reports, newsletters, and promotional campaigns.
Proficient in crafting and maintaining cohesive branding strategies, developing visual identities, and driving audience engagement while effectively and sensitively addressing sensitive or socially significant topics with professionalism and clarity.
Seeking an individual who demonstrates creativity, proactivity, and meticulous attention to detail, driven by a passion for leveraging digital storytelling to advance advocacy, enhance visibility, and foster meaningful social change.
Strong proficiency in multimedia and digital tools is required, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva, along with foundational experience in DSLR cameras, audio recording, and video editing software.
Proficiency in social media management platforms, including Hootsuite, Buffer, and Meta Business Suite, as well as foundational analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Meta Insights, is considered an asset.
