This role is pivotal in supporting missionaries in fulfilling their purpose to ‘Invite others to come unto Christ by assisting them in embracing the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.’ As an entry-level individual contributor, teachers provide foundational support by training missionaries across diverse settings and subject areas. Instruction may encompass language proficiency, gospel doctrine, Preach My Gospel methods, and essential missionary competencies. Teachers engage with both junior and senior missionaries during pre-MTC preparation, on-site training at the MTC, and post-MTC deployment. They adhere to an established curriculum and may be chosen to contribute to pilot programs or special initiatives.

Manages a range of operational duties to ensure seamless workflow, including overseeing daily team activities, monitoring project progress, and coordinating cross-functional collaboration. Identifies and resolves process inefficiencies while implementing improvements to enhance productivity and quality. Ensures adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and resolving escalated issues promptly. Participates in strategic planning sessions to align departmental goals with organizational objectives, driving measurable results through data-driven decision-making.

The incumbent will report to either a trainer or a supervisor within the Training department.

Delivers guidance, mentorship, and constructive input to missionaries across various instructional environments, including personalized one-on-one coaching sessions, small group discussions, large-scale training workshops, and oversight of online learning activities such as Canvas participation and discussion board engagement.

Plans and develops lessons in alignment with the approved curriculum, coordinating with an assigned companion teacher, as needed, to address the missionary’s requirements.

Oversees the strategic planning and financial management of educational initiatives for missionaries.

Carries out directives and coaching provided by the Teacher Trainer/Supervisor, Manager of Training, and Senior Manager of Training.

Attends weekly training sessions and participates in collaborative co-teacher discussions.

Provides support to local leadership by collaborating with mission and Missionary Department leadership as needed.

Provides leadership with updates on the status and advancement of assigned responsibilities.

Experienced professionals guide missionaries through structured preparation for both practice sessions and live instructional environments, ensuring comprehensive skill development and effective delivery.

Candidates may be required to evaluate the language proficiency of prospective missionaries and teaching staff in the target language.

May occasionally assume supplementary duties as an Actor, portraying an individual who is not a member and is seeking to explore the teachings and principles of The Church of Jesus Christ.

As capacity permits, may assume additional duties as a Training Area Assistant.

May also encompass additional temporary responsibilities assigned within the MTC, such as providing support for the Mission Leadership Seminar.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field—such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science—along with a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role is required. Strong proficiency in CAD software, project management, and data analysis is essential. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are critical for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities is expected. Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory position is a plus. Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards is also necessary.

Required:

A returned missionary is required.

Proficiency in the designated second language is essential for applicants pursuing roles in language instruction.

Accomplished coaching, facilitation, and training expertise, along with proven abilities in these areas.

A solid grasp of the principles and methodologies outlined in Preach My Gospel is required.
