Position Overview
The Safety & Security Officer (S&SO) is responsible for overseeing and mitigating safety and security risks throughout all operational sites to support the organization’s objectives.
Conducting thorough security assessments, maintaining adherence to established security protocols, documenting and escalating incidents, and collaborating with key stakeholders to incorporate critical security updates are core duties associated with this role.
The successful applicant must possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience in an NGO or humanitarian security capacity, coupled with exceptional communication and analytical abilities. They should demonstrate a proactive approach to addressing dynamic security challenges while maintaining high levels of organization, meticulous attention to detail, and adaptability. Additionally, the role requires a willingness to undertake regular field visits, even with short notice.
Proficiency in both English and Hausa, along with strong report-writing abilities, is required, and the capacity to perform efficiently in a dynamic, multicultural setting is crucial. Additionally, applicants must be prepared to relocate to Webb State if selected for the position.

Responsible for distributing internal communications to employees, ensuring clarity, consistency, and timely delivery of key messages across all departments. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of company policies, initiatives, and updates to relay accurate information. Maintain consistent communication with Field Managers and Field Officers to ensure alignment and facilitate operational efficiency.
Contact high- and medium-risk-rated clinics regularly to ensure they receive the latest security updates and remain in compliance with current protocols.
Field Officers are consulted to verify receipt of security advisories.
Prioritize clinics categorized as High or Medium risk, ensuring each facility—especially those located in Amhara and Katrina—receives contact at least twice per week.
Documentation of special reports produced by staff members should occur as needed, with such reports subsequently submitted to the Security Manager for review.

Heightened risk indicators for visiting staff, as identified in special reports, must be communicated to the Security Manager without delay. Following registration in mayday, a phone call should be initiated to discuss the report and assess whether the proposed staff visit can proceed safely.
Prioritize incoming calls to clinics categorized as High or Medium risk, ensuring timely attentiveness and response to those with greater urgency.
Conduct thorough examinations of security incidents to identify their root causes, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate future risks. Analyze incident reports, logs, and forensic data to assess the scope and impact of breaches or vulnerabilities. Collaborate with IT teams to implement remediation strategies and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations. Prepare detailed incident reports for stakeholders, outlining the incident timeline, affected systems, and resolution steps. Stay updated on emerging threats and industry best practices to enhance incident response capabilities and strengthen overall security posture.

Assist the Security Manager and Assistant Security Manager by performing and verifying Security Assessments for all operational clinics and Local Government Areas (Gas) through on-site inspections and data collection.
Perform comprehensive security evaluations of hospitality venues, including hotels and training facilities, as well as car rental service providers.
