Job Summary
The Refractory Mason at Denote Cement Plc undertakes the installation, maintenance, and repair of refractory linings in kilns, furnaces, and other high-temperature equipment, ensuring optimal plant performance, safety, and operational efficiency.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of critical functions and strategic initiatives as part of this role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational excellence. Install refractory materials, including bricks, castable, and insulation, within kilns, cyclones, preheaters, and associated systems, ensuring proper placement and structural integrity.
Guarantee correct alignment, spacing, and line thickness in strict adherence to established technical standards.
Perform anchoring and lining tasks as assigned to ensure stability and alignment of components.
Conduct thorough examinations of refractory linings to identify signs of wear, cracks, or other forms of damage, ensuring structural integrity and operational safety.
Remove damaged refractory materials and install new components in their place to maintain structural integrity and operational efficiency.
Execute patching and emergency repairs throughout ongoing plant operations as well as during scheduled shutdown periods.
Professional rewriting:
Before installation, ensure all surfaces are properly prepared, including thorough cleaning and leveling as necessary.
Prepare and apply refractory materials, including castable, mortar, and gunning mixes, ensuring proper consistency and adherence to specifications.
Ensure that all installed materials undergo proper curing and drying processes.
Perform regular inspections to verify the structural soundness of refractory linings.
Strict compliance with established installation protocols and adherence to manufacturer guidelines is mandatory.
Identify and document defects while proposing effective corrective measures to ensure product quality and reliability.
Adhere strictly to all established plant safety protocols and utilize the required personal protective equipment.
Perform duties with strict adherence to safety protocols in high-temperature and confined spaces.
Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times.
Offer constructive evaluations regarding completed assignments and the materials utilized throughout the process.
Assist supervisors by monitoring maintenance tasks and shutdown operations to ensure accurate documentation and progress tracking.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with at least three years of experience in financial analysis or audit. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems are essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required. Candidates must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently. Familiarity with regulatory standards such as GAAP or IFRS is preferred. Additionally, prior experience in the [industry/field] is advantageous, though not mandatory.
A Trade Test Certification is required.
A minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience as a Refractory Mason within a cement production facility or a similarly demanding industrial setting is required.
