The Assistant Production Manager for Oil Palm is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production execution by converting strategic production plans into daily operational activities while enhancing the utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and methods (collectively referred to as the 4M framework).
This position is tasked with achieving production targets, managing labor expenses, reducing downtime and waste, upholding quality standards, as well as guaranteeing adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties, including but not limited to strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and compliance across all functions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project execution, resolve challenges, and achieve measurable results. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management to inform decision-making. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
Transform weekly and monthly production schedules into detailed daily shift plans.
Responsibilities include the strategic allocation of labor, machinery, and raw materials to facilitate seamless production operations.
Monitor production output, identify any deviations, and execute corrective measures to ensure optimal performance.
Oversee attendance tracking, manage shift schedules, regulate overtime allocations, and ensure payroll precision.
Monitor machine operations to evaluate performance metrics, identify periods of downtime, and oversee maintenance scheduling to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining high-quality standards, and implementing effective waste management protocols.
Oversee production expenditures and spearhead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure adherence to established safety protocols, proper utilization of personal protective equipment, and timely reporting of any incidents.
Compile precise daily reports that detail production activities and operational metrics to ensure comprehensive tracking and analysis.
Oversee team discipline, performance management, and professional development initiatives to ensure optimal productivity and growth.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Production, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline, is required for this position.
With experience as a key requirement, candidates should possess a proven track record in a related field to be considered for this opportunity. A minimum of three years of hands-on experience is necessary, along with a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices. Familiarity with relevant tools, technologies, and methodologies is also essential to excel in this role. Additionally, prior experience in project management, team leadership, or specific technical domains may be required depending on the position.
A minimum of four to eight years of hands-on experience within the Oil Palm plantation sector is required.
With a minimum of two to three years of experience in a supervisory or assistant managerial capacity, you will bring proven leadership and operational expertise to our team.
Proficiency in production planning, workforce management, and budgetary oversight is essential, with a demonstrated ability to optimize operational efficiency and maintain financial accountability throughout manufacturing processes.
Technical Skills Required:
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Experience with software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of database management and SQL.
• Understanding of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues.
• Experience with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Competency in using development tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Jenkins.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to analyze complex situations and develop innovative solutions is essential. Candidates must demonstrate a capacity for critical thinking and effective troubleshooting in dynamic environments.
