Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all construction activities on site, ensuring that the project is executed safely, efficiently, on schedule and in accordance with quality requirements. The role requires strong leadership capabilities and extensive experience managing complex building projects involving multiple subcontractors and disciplines.
The Construction Manager will report directly to the Project Manager while overseeing all operational responsibilities, which include:
Overseeing and organizing all on-site construction activities from project inception through completion.
Directing site teams, subcontractors, and construction supervisors to oversee smooth project implementation.
Diligently monitoring adherence to established construction timelines and critical project deliverables represents a core responsibility.
Overseeing day-to-day site activities while addressing construction challenges in a timely and proactive manner.
Responsible for the harmonized management of civil, structural, architectural, finishing, and MEP works, ensuring efficient synchronization across all disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
Conducting thorough evaluations of construction techniques and verifying strict compliance with project specifications and architectural drawings.
Overseeing site productivity metrics and enhancing workforce efficiency are primary responsibilities.
Ensuring the efficient organization and allocation of materials, equipment, and labor resources is imperative for seamless operations.
Facilitating routine progress meetings with site teams and subcontractors is essential to ensure alignment, address challenges, and track project advancement.
Overseeing adherence to quality standards and implementing corrective measures as required.
Facilitating project planning and reporting processes by delivering precise and timely progress updates.
Ensuring adherence to stringent health, safety, and environmental standards.
Identifying potential risks, delays, and bottlenecks and developing effective mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
Working in close partnership with project management, engineering, procurement, and commercial teams, this role requires seamless collaboration to achieve shared objectives.
Involvement in testing, commissioning, and project handover processes is required.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
Experience in the construction industry spanning at least 12 years is required.
With a minimum of seven years of experience overseeing expansive commercial construction initiatives, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in managing complex building projects from inception to completion.
Experienced in successfully executing high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use development projects.
Possesses extensive experience in the design, analysis, and construction of reinforced concrete structures, along with expertise in formwork systems and finishing works.
Demonstrates a comprehensive grasp of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) coordination in construction projects.
Proven track record in overseeing diverse, multicultural teams and coordinating various subcontractors.
Fluency in construction environments across Africa, the Middle East, or international markets is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in construction planning methodologies and project control systems is essential.
Proficient in international construction standards and quality management systems is required.
Exceptional proficiency in guiding and overseeing site operations with strong leadership skills.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in coordinating tasks and organizing workflows efficiently.
