Overview

The External Auditor will oversee and lead multiple audit engagements spanning clients within the private and public sectors, ensuring comprehensive and efficient execution of each assignment.

The position demands the provision of superior audit services in strict adherence to international standards and the firm’s established quality control policies. Proficiency in leadership, technical acumen, and a proven track record in managing varied teams and intricate projects are imperative.

Primary responsibilities involve overseeing and executing a range of critical tasks to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness. This includes managing day-to-day activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and implementing strategic initiatives to support organizational goals. Additionally, the role requires analyzing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and developing actionable plans to enhance productivity and quality standards. Collaboration with stakeholders at all levels is essential to align efforts and achieve desired outcomes.

Conduct audit engagements in coordination with Managing Partners to ensure alignment and effective execution of audit strategies.

Support the preparation of proposals and collaborate on efforts to secure new business opportunities.

Strive to meet revenue objectives without compromising on the delivery of exceptional service standards.

Conduct audit engagements in accordance with international auditing standards as well as established internal policies and procedures.

Deliver instructional sessions to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Assist in achieving organizational objectives by contributing to report generation and facilitating audit planning processes.

Examine audit procedures to verify precision and adherence to deadlines while ensuring timely completion of deliverables.

Work in tandem with other departments to align communication and marketing initiatives, ensuring cohesive and integrated strategies across the organization.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is mandatory, with a minimum of five years of professional experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and quality assurance standards is highly advantageous.

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree—or a Higher National Diploma—in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required.

A minimum of seven years of post-qualification auditing experience is required.

Qualifications include active membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or an equivalent professional accounting organization.

Proven track record in conducting audits for clients spanning private and public sectors.

Additional Criteria:

Demonstrated success in overseeing a portfolio of at least seven Category A clients for a minimum of two consecutive years.

Comprehensive expertise in accounting principles and auditing regulations is required.

Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills are essential.

Possesses current knowledge of industry regulations and emerging trends.

Demonstrates strong analytical abilities to accurately interpret and derive insights from financial data and information.

Demonstrates strong working knowledge of Caneware, Microsoft Office Suite, and other pertinent software applications.

Proven capacity to collaborate effectively within team settings while handling a diverse array of priorities with precision and efficiency.
