Action Against Hunger Nigeria (ACF Nigeria) LTD/LTE operates as a global humanitarian and development organization dedicated to addressing the root causes and consequences of hunger across more than 50 countries, with a significant presence in Nigeria. Since its establishment in 2010, ACF Nigeria has been committed to mitigating chronic food insecurity and malnutrition in Northeast Nigeria, actively responding to a severe humanitarian crisis driven by insecurity, mass displacement, natural disasters, climate variability, and economic instability.
ACF Nigeria, in collaboration with its partners—BO WDI, YIP DI, Save the Children (SC), and EYE—has been executing the Empowering and Nurturing Resilience, Integration, and Community Health (ENRICH) program, funded by the U.S. Department of State. Over the past 24 months, this initiative has delivered critical lifesaving and recovery support to vulnerable communities across Born State, particularly in the Rubio, Maguire, Mobber, and Saga Local Government Areas (Gas), positively impacting the lives of approximately 714,045 individuals.
The primary goals of these initiatives encompass a comprehensive scope, striving to achieve measurable outcomes and sustainable progress. Through strategic planning and meticulous execution, the projects aim to address key challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and drive innovation across various domains. Collaboration and adherence to established timelines, budgets, and quality standards remain central to their success, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Enhanced health and nutrition services are implemented to significantly decrease rates of illness and death.
Strengthening household food security is achieved by delivering unconditional food or cash assistance during both lean and off-lean seasons to populations affected by conflict.
Integrated WASH interventions are implemented to strengthen the resilience of households, communities, and systems, enabling them to withstand shocks in Born.
Populations impacted by adverse conditions now have enhanced access to protective services designed to foster community resilience.
ACF, in collaboration with its partners, advances multi-faceted strategies to enhance food security, expand access to quality health and nutrition services, and strengthen the resilience of at-risk communities. The organization’s primary objective is threefold: to elevate nutrition security, diminish mortality and morbidity—particularly among children under five—and foster community empowerment for sustainable growth.
