The Packing Plant Operator oversees the seamless and effective functioning of machinery and processes in the cement packing facility. This position ensures cement is accurately packed, measured, and shipped in accordance with production goals, while upholding stringent safety, quality, and cleanliness protocols.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of critical duties and responsibilities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Serve as a key contributor to strategic initiatives, facilitating cross-functional collaboration to drive efficiency and innovation. Manage core tasks with precision, including project oversight, process optimization, and quality assurance, while maintaining strict adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements. Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and high performance. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven solutions to enhance productivity and outcomes.
Achieve the established packing target, which is set at 750 metric tons of cement per twelve-hour shift.
At the start of each shift, you will report to the Shift Manager to obtain detailed instructions and assigned tasks.
Conduct thorough shift handover and takeover procedures to maintain seamless operational continuity.
Operate packers, autoloaders, and other machinery within the packing plant efficiently, with a preference for utilizing automatic (auto) mode.
Regularly verify the weight of cement bags to ensure they meet the 50 kg standard, and promptly notify the Supervisor of any discrepancies.
Ensure rejected or damaged bags are organized and labeled in designated areas to prevent contamination or loss.
Ensure the packing area remains staffed at all times; do not leave the workstation unattended throughout operations.
Before departing the work area for any reason, ensure proper authorization has been obtained.
Maintain a clean and hazard-free workspace by promptly clearing out rejected materials and upholding meticulous housekeeping standards.
Perform regular inspections of equipment and promptly notify the Shift Supervisor or Maintenance team of any mechanical or process-related issues.
Maintain seamless communication and ensure a thorough handover to the incoming operator as your shift concludes.
You are required to comply strictly with all company policies and safety protocols, which include adhering to the ISO Management Systems (QMS, EMS, and OHSA) standards.
*Must hold a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial analysis, reporting, or auditing.* Candidates should demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and ERP systems, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication abilities are essential for collaborating across departments and presenting financial insights to stakeholders. *Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory compliance is required.* Prior experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling is preferred. *Candidates must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.* Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
Holds a WAS, GCE, or SSC certificate, or possesses a Trade Test certification at levels I, II, or III in a pertinent technical discipline—such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance.
Requires a minimum of two to nine years of hands-on experience in cement packing, manufacturing processes, or other industrial operations.
Proficient in interpreting, composing, and adhering to standard operating procedures.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse teams, alongside strong interpersonal and communication skills to convey ideas clearly and foster productive working relationships.
Capable of executing both manual and technical tasks, this role demands a high level of physical fitness and technical proficiency.
