The Packing Plant Operator oversees the seamless and productive functioning of machinery and processes within the cement packing facility. This position requires diligent oversight to ensure cement is accurately packed, precisely weighed, and promptly dispatched in alignment with production goals, all while upholding stringent safety protocols, quality benchmarks, and workplace cleanliness standards.
Oversee and execute a range of critical duties and responsibilities essential to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Serve as a key contributor to strategic initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and innovation. Manage assigned projects from inception to completion, maintaining strict adherence to deadlines, budgets, and quality benchmarks. Perform regular evaluations of processes to identify opportunities for improvement, implementing data-driven solutions to enhance productivity and performance. Liaise with stakeholders at all levels to facilitate clear communication, foster stakeholder satisfaction, and ensure seamless project execution. Maintain meticulous documentation and reporting upholding transparency and accountability in all activities.
To guarantee the attainment of the packing target, which is 750 metric tons of cement per twelve-hour shift.
At the start of every shift, you will report directly to the Shift Manager to obtain detailed instructions and assigned tasks for the day.
Ensure seamless transition between shifts by conducting thorough handovers and takeovers, thereby maintaining uninterrupted operational continuity.
Operate packing plant machinery, including packers and autoloaders, with a high degree of efficiency, ideally in automatic (auto) mode.
Consistently monitor the weight of cement bags to ensure they meet the specified 50 kg standard; promptly escalate any discrepancies to the Supervisor for immediate resolution.
Accurately organize and Mark rejected or damaged bags in the specified storage zones to avoid potential contamination or misplacement.
Ensure the packing area remains staffed at all times; do not leave the workstation unattended throughout operations.
Before departing the work area for any reason, ensure proper authorization is secured.
Ensure a clean, safe workspace by systematically eliminating rejected materials and maintaining meticulous housekeeping standards.
Perform regular equipment inspections and promptly escalate any mechanical or process-related issues to the Shift Supervisor or Maintenance team for resolution.
Facilitate seamless communication and transition of duties to the incoming operator at the conclusion of each shift.
Comply with all organizational policies as well as safety protocols, such as those outlined in the ISO Management Systems, which include Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSA).
Requirements
Applicants must possess either a WAS, GCE, or SSC certificate, or an approved Trade Test certification at Level I, II, or III, in a specialized technical discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance.
Individuals should possess between two and nine years of hands-on experience in cement packing, manufacturing processes, or industrial operational environments.
Proficiency in interpreting and executing standard operating procedures with accuracy and attention to detail is required.
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative abilities are essential, as the role requires seamless interaction with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve shared objectives efficiently.
Proficient in executing both physical and technical duties with a strong level of fitness and capability.
