The Packing Plant Operator oversees the seamless and productive functioning of machinery and processes within the cement packing facility. This position entails verifying that cement is accurately packed, measured, and shipped in alignment with production goals, all while upholding stringent safety protocols, quality benchmarks, and workplace cleanliness standards.
Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties and responsibilities integral to the role, including the execution of strategic initiatives, meticulous management of operational workflows, and the provision of high-level support to senior leadership. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives, while maintaining rigorous adherence to established policies and procedures. Facilitate seamless communication channels to enhance productivity and efficiency across all departments. Monitor performance metrics and implement data-driven adjustments to optimize outcomes, ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional results.
To meet the established packing target of 750 metric tons of cement within each twelve-hour shift.
Begin each shift by checking in with the Shift Manager to obtain detailed instructions or assigned tasks for the shift.
Ensure seamless transition of duties during shift changes to maintain uninterrupted operational flow.
Operate packing plant machinery, including packers, autoloaders, and other equipment, with a high degree of efficiency, ideally in automatic (auto) mode.
Regularly verify the weight of cement bags to ensure they meet the 50 kg requirement; promptly notify the Supervisor of any discrepancies.
Ensure rejected or damaged (busted) bags are organized and labeled correctly in the assigned areas to avoid contamination or loss.
Maintain consistent coverage of the packing area by ensuring the workstation remains staffed throughout all operational periods.
Before departing the work area for any reason, ensure to secure the necessary authorization.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace by promptly removing rejected materials, thereby ensuring high standards of housekeeping and organization throughout all operational areas.
Perform regular equipment inspections and promptly communicate any mechanical or process irregularities to the Shift Supervisor or Maintenance team.
Facilitate seamless communication and ensure a thorough handover process to the incoming operator as the shift concludes.
Compliance with all corporate policies and safety protocols is mandatory, encompassing ISO Management Systems such as Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS).
Requirements
Candidates must possess a WAS, GCE, or SSC certification, or alternatively, a Trade Test I, II, or III in a pertinent technical discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance.
Seeking candidates with 2 to 9 years of hands-on experience in cement packing, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
Proficient in interpreting, composing, and adhering to standard operating procedures.
Effective interpersonal communication and collaborative abilities are essential for this role. Strong teamwork capabilities are required to work productively within a group setting.
Capable of executing both physical and technical responsibilities with proficiency and stamina.
